  • About the project

    To know English is different than to speak English. Many of our students are good at English lesson. They can solve questions in English, make sentences, read paragraphs and answer the reading comprehension questions. But when it comes to interactive communication, they are limited in simple sentences, don't dare to go into a conversation, they don't count on their pronunciation also. It doesn't make a sense how many words does  students know without practice.
    This project aims to create  speaking environment for the students to practice speaking English.


    Our students learn English at school. They learn writing simple sentences, reading texts and solving questions in English. What about speaking? Does speaking mean only making some sentences in the classroom. What about mutual communication? Many of them don't have chance to practice their speaking and pronunciation in English speaking countries. Many of our students are not involved in any real conversation and communication in English.
    In this project, we aim to create an environment and opportunities for our pupils to use and practice English language in real life out of their lesson hours, out of their lesson books, out of their exams. We intend to act collaterally with the school curriculum while choosing our topics and activity types.
    We will let our students speak English to their mates from different countries by being exposed to use this common language.


    We have a timetable for our activities.
    We include involving in real dialogues, making oral presentations, doing speeches, reading poems/stories, singing songs etc. We will pay attention to the subjects in the curriculum.
    We put an activity type and topic for each month. Our project will last until June 2021.
    Our pupils will do collaborative activities with friends from other countries. They will be matched and also have international groups to do the activities with. They will also be in groups in their own schools for some activities.
    Each partner will use a kind of web tool that they know very well and can teach to other members for each activity.
    We will make evaluation at the end of each activity.


    We will use twinspace for our project. Our pupils will have chance to see and write to each other and also share comments in that platform.
    Our expected results are:
    -pupils will be aware of the necessity and usage of common language
    -they will improve their pronunciation,vocabulary and speaking skills
    -they will gain self-confidence to involve in a convesation in English
    -they will have friends from different countries
    -they will exposed to speak English
    -they will feel a need to use English in real life
    -improve their courage socially in an international dimension
    -they will increase their cultural knowledge
    -they will increase their awareness for their environment

    We will create common products of our collaborative works:

    1. ebook about weather conditions and seasons in different countries

    2. Writing and Reading Letters for penpals

    3. Chain questions-answers activity about hobbies

    4. Meeting to talk about hobbies and dream holidays

    5. A Cooperative Audio Poetry Book

    6. Audio recipes book 

    7. A Cooperative Audio story book
