SLOVENIA
We wanted our mascot to be associated with the name of our school, and this is how we got the idea for it.
Since our school, OŠ Slivnica pri Celju, was named after the village "Slivnica" which got its name because of the many plum trees that grew there ("Slivnica" is a derivative of the Slovenian word "sliva" which means "a plum"), we decided our mascot to be a plum. Since our Slivček is still small, its name is a diminutive and it is pronounced: /slɪvtʃek/.
Our mascot was made by our teacher, Miss Jožica Vodeb.
We like our mascot a lot, and hopefully you will like it too. :-)

We decided to choose the mascot we sent in the journey last year. It is Żaruś, a deer

Greece (3rd Primary school of Sykies, Thessaloniki)
This is our first time taking part in a project with mascots, so we are all very excited about it!
Students had brought several stuffed animals at school, so yesterday each class (D1 and D2) voted the one they like most.
As you can see in the photos, there are two finalists at the moment! This Monday, both classes are voting for the one that will be our school's mascot, so we can take a photo of it and have its passport and diary ready for our mascot's journey on the 15th of October!
So far, we've enjoyed every moment of the process!
And the winner is .... our little bear .... Odysseus!
