General Presentation

  • General presentation (vídeo)

The core objective of the project is writing and performing a play in which solutions to problems of unemployment previously agreed on and worked out will appear.
The fundamental reason for the project can be found in one of the objectives of the programme "Europe 2020" with which this project shows a great tune: the reduction of unemployment and the improvement of access to the work of the European young population.
Unemployment percentages among European youngsters is a challenge for governments and for those who have any responsibilities in education. Our schools' engagement in this challenge is total and it demands us great involvement to apply properly the official curricula, and to do the necessary research to innovate and to give our youngsters more resources for their employability.
Our schools have special programs dealing with particular training issues with an influence on our students' personal, social and scholar success, e.g. on their employability. This project is another step in the same direction, involving students and teachers.
The full engagement of teachers in this issues is crucial for a real success, so we plan this project as an improvement both for teachers and students. Students will benefit of any improvement in this direction that aims at giving them greater chances for employment. But we don't want just to prepare and implement a project in which teachers will create something new for our current students. This would not be profitable enough. Teachers' improvement is an objective in itself as it is the only way to ensure that this two year project is only the beginning of a new path for our current and for our future students to get or to improve the skills and the competences that are going to make them more employable.
This transnational teachers' team is creating a project in which different dimensions will intermingle, as research in different methodologies, their implementation, and new knowledge in different areas among which employability and drama are the most visible ones but not the only ones.
    Objectives
    For students:
The improvement of the access to the job market demands the achievement of some competences that have been identified as central to the employability of citizens in general and of youngsters in particular. That is why this project aims are to :
Develop different skills needed in future employment: creativity, flexibility, team work, management of time, planning and organizing, coping with stress, self-presentation, commercial awareness.
Rise awareness of using English as an international communication tool.
    Improve ICT skills.
    Develop self-confidence and social skills.
Gain initiative, self improvement and making things happen process.
    Work on autonomy and independence.
    For teachers:
Improve their work by the use of integrative methodologies such as the portfolio, problem-based learning, project-based learning, and shared teaching among teachers of various specialities.
Integrate more teachers from each school, teaching different disciplines, in each ERASMUS+ team so that the project has a transversal and integrating approach in the curriculum.
Their professional development through sharing good teaching practices from different countries. This will allow to transcend the limitations of those curricula that not always have the desired dedication to the cross-disciplinary skills for employability, and even less in the artistic area which, treated in this way, offers great possibilities to deepen in these competences.
    Target groups:
Our students in their obligatory education, who in some years will have to find their first job. In our schools we have been experiencing the need to develop their employability skills with special programmes and actions. This project, especially because it is transnational, appears to us as a well designed action to fight unemployment.
Our teachers, who will develop critical strategies and methodologies to improve their teaching of employability skills.
Other target groups are not only those students taking part directly in the project activities but a greater number of them who will receive their effect through the disseminating actions, and the students' families, who will be able to experience the values of the employability skills for our teenagers’ future.
Job Market is becoming increasingly Internationalized, so any action to enhance employability of young people should also be internationalized. Erasmus+ gives us the best opportunity in this sense.
Knowing, accepting and understanding other cultures and being tollerant towards cultural differences, experiencing one’s own capacity of working together with someone coming from a different culture, and overcoming the possible obstacles in order to be able to do the entrusted task.
