Secondary School of Civil Engineering is a school focused on technology.However,it does not mean that we are not interested in the culture. We provide a lot of cultural activities in our school.

 

We draw and paint. Our students can attend art clubs and their works are presented in a school galery on the second floor.

We also take photos. Last year a competition called the Life of Stavebka took part in our school. The winners were awarded at a school vernissage. The participants could enjoy the cultural programme and the tasty refresment.

 

We make videos. We have created three short videos dealing with the teenageres´ troubles - truancy,unhealthy lifestyle and bullying. If you are interested, we will show you one of the films after this presentation.

 

We also have a school band. Its name is Kolowrath. The musicians have been replaced several times since its formation and we can enjoy their music at the Christmas performance, which is hold annually in the cultural centre of our town,

Our students also dance and show their various skills so everyone can admire us.

 

We are also keen on theatre. Our school ansemble has been acting for ten years. The best thing is that both the students and the teachers take part in it. We love preparations for our performances. The rehersals are great fun.

 

We would like to mention Osel and stín (The Ass and the Shadow) by Voskovec and Werich, very famous authors and actors of the first half of the twentieth century. We have also chosen plays by very famous Czech theatre called after a fictional genius Jara Cimrman. Last time we performed Vražda v salónním kupé (A murder in a parlor compartment).

 

This school year the Miser (L´Avare) by French classisist author Moliere was on. We spent a lot of time rehersing and then we perfomed this play twice - once for our students and schools staff and later for the public and the parents.

We are already looking forward to the new play for the next school year.
