Easter holidays are holidays when we paint easter eggs, prepare ham, bread, horseradish, sausages and we take the food to church to be blessed. The next day we eat the food  for breakfast. On Monday we don't have to go to school.

In recent days we have EASTER. We are Christians and believe in Jesus. Jesus had a very cruel death.

Pilate soldiers beat him and nailed himr on the Cross. After three days  he rose from the dead. This is the largest Slovenian religious holiday.

On Ester Saturday priest blesses the food (ham, eggs, horseradish).

In Slovenia we have a feast, called Velika noč or Easter in English.  Me and my mum baked a cake and painted the eggs.  They were red.  We cooked ham and baked bread. We bought a horseradish and some fruits.  All this food was placed in a basket. On Saturday we took the food to the church.  On Sunday the whole family had easter breakfast.  I had a nice time.

In the Easter morning I went to the church. When I came home, my family ate breakfast. Then I had a  shower. In the morning my cousins came to me. We played outside. It was a lot of fun. I  went shoping with my cousin Lucija. When we  came home, we ate pizza. In the afternoon me and Lucija painted Easter eggs. They had spots, lines and plants printed on them and we ate them very fast

Last weekend was Easter. Easter is the biggest Christian holiday. We decorate our flat with rabbits, eggs, chickens and flowers. We painted eggs in onion peels and red colour. We cooked ham too. My mother baked delicious chocolate potica. Potica is pastry made of dough and wahlnut filling. On Sunday we had Easter breakfast with my grandparents. My grandma gave me a big chocolate egg. In the afternoon we visited my dad's parents in Ljubljana which is the capital of Slovenia.

At Easter we have the Easter breakfast. My mum goes to a mass. Then priest blesses the Easter food. We eat horseradish which represents Jesus’s nails, then we eat a cake which represent Jesus’s crown, we eat ham which represents Jesus’s body, we eat eggs which represent Jesus’s drops of blood and my parents drink some wine which represent Jesus blood. I drink tea or juice because, I don’t drink wine. My sister comes to visit us. And of course my two nieces. We have fun at Easter.

Our  theme is Easter, so I’ll tell you, how we celebrate it. I like Easter because we color the eggs and they look beautiful. I like eating chocolate, so most off all I like game that we play: Find the eggs. There are a lot of chocolate eggs hidden somewhere in the house and we kids need to find them. I always find a lot of eggs, and I eat them in one day. I told you what I do at Easter. What about you? How do you and your family celebrate the Easter?

We celebrated Easter on 5 April. On Saturday we went to Grandma and Grandpa where we painted Easter eggs, baked bread and waited for the Easter bunny to bring Easter chocolate eggs. At three in the afternoon we went to church where we took Easter eggs, ham, horseradish, bread and cake. The next morning, the family ate Easter breakfast. Then we went to grandparents where we had dinner with relatives.
