Program Denmark

  • January 24th 2017. Dear Colleagues in Spain, Germany and Estonia. We will be looking forward to seeing you here at Vestfyns Gymnasium in Glamsbjerg. We have been a little pressed for time and are little behind our schedule. Anyway, this our plans: 3.26.2017 We understand that our friends from Spain will come a day early. That’s fine. We expect you come to Glamsbjerg?- and we will find host families for you? • We do have a couple of questions concerning that: • Do you intend to stop over in Copenhagen and visit Copenhagen – In that case we shouldn’t find accommodations for you the first night?? • Do you know when you are arriving on Sunday in Odense, should that be the case? • We haven’t anything planned Monday until Monday evening – have you got plans for the day or should / could we suggest something for you to with your students during the day? 3.27.2017 Students and colleagues from Germany and Estonia will be arriving. Please inform us when you will arrive in Odense. We will make sure we can guide you to Glamsbjerg from there. Since everybody probably will arrive at different times during the day, we do not plan anything Monday until 18.30 where we all (students and host families) will meet at the school and share a Danish meal together. Our plan is to arrange for some games and dances so we will get to know each other. At around 21.30 we will depart and go to the host families. 3.28.2017 8.30 – 11.55 During the morning lessons the students from Spain will attend Spanish classes – and the students from Germany - German classes and the student from Estonia – English classes. The teachers will be asked to incorporate the visit into the plan for the lesson, so the student from our visitors will have a role to play during class as speaking partner and such. (The Danish Maseni students will follow their normal classes) 12.25 – 14.00 The Danish MASENI students and our guest will be trained in chemistry. We will test the quality and characteristic of water from the different countries – to see if we can find any differences (PLEACE remember to bring a bottle of ordinary tab-water from your hometown). We will get to know the chemistry kit, we will use on our excursion on Wednesday were we will test water at different locations at Baagø. 14.00 – the day is over and the guests and hosts can use the rest of the day. 3.29.2017 8.30 – 10.00 we’ll meet and transport us to Assens 10.00 – 17.20 Ferry to Baagø – a very small island (18 inhabitants) where we will test water saltwater and freshwater, look at wildlife with a guide – visit a small museum. The whole island is in some respects like Denmark in the 1950. The Danish MASENI Student’s will be in charge of trans national workgroups At around 18.00 we´ll be back in Assens We will probably have to arrange a common evening meal in Assens. 19.00 We will attend the annual concert, drama and exhibition (forårskoncerten) where the school’s students in creative classes will put on a show. It is voluntary though – maybe we are too tired. An estimate on the total cost of the whole day (transport, meal and guide) will be around 40 euros pr. participant. (Each School pay their own way, to get the receipts necessary in a case of EU-inspection (audit) – for cost concerning the TA’s.) 3.29.2017 8.30 - 11.55 Maseni students meet in Glamsbjerg (Danish and quest’s) and shares results and gives each other lectures / shows (It’s up to you) on the importance/aspects of water in their country. 12.30 – 16.00 we’ll all visit a water treatment plant in Odense and have a guided tour. Expected cost: around 10 – 20 euros 3.30.2017 8 – 17.00 We will visit Danfoss Universe (http://universe.dk/en/plan-your-visit/) a theme park with a moto: ”Where science is fun”. Including a lunch and a guided tour around 50 euros pr. Person and then there will be some transport costs, but we haven’t an estimate yet – probably around 10 – 15 euros pr. Person 17 – 19 the last supper at the school (17 – 19) and we will say goodbye to each other over a Danish meal. The Danish students and their quest will go home. 3.30.2017 If possible we could meet in Odense and visit the (rather interesting!) museum of H.C Andersen– the Danish fairy teller. The host families will make sure you all meet, at either Glamsbjerg and takes the bus to Odense, or meet in Odense. The departures will probably vary – so we will make more specific arrangements later. We hope this give you an idea of our plans. We will try to make sure, that cost’s do not exceed the budget grant in any way. Looking forward to seeing you all! Best regards The MASENI-teachers at Vestfyns Gymnasium.
