FARM WITH NATIVE ANIMALS TRIBES “DIMO'S ARC” (Greece)

    “DIMO'S ARC” contributes to the preservation of the biodiversity features of the planet. Dimitrios Dimo's farm is 300 acre and animals have access to a 5000 acre places situated in a 2Km distance east from Kalabaka. Today 135 cows, from the Greek steppic tribe – Katerini tribe, are nourished and they're the remaining of the 200 hundred ones which still live in this country. During the 1960's there were 200.000 cows of this tribe. There are also 120 pigmothers coming from Greek black pig tribe, 40 horses from thessaly, 16 ponies from Skyros and native sheep and goats from native tribes. The farm had a major role in the preservation of the Katerini tribe cows and the Greek black pigs. That's why this farm has received two prices from the international organisation “Slow food”. As you understand its contribution to the preservation of the biodiversity features of the planet has benn crucial. High quality meat is also produced in our farm. Groups can visit this farm, after you contact the owner. Location: Dimitris Dimo's farm is 2Km before you reach the village “Avra” and 23 Km from Trikala after the village Theopetra in the Antihasia area.
