1º Meeting, Portugal

  • 13th January 2015

    Good morning everyone,

The first word is for our partners from Hungary, Italy, Reunion Island, Romania, Spain and Turkey. Welcome to our country, town and, of course, our school. Thanks for coming.

And now a word to the teachers… in our school we have a big team. At this moment, with us, we have a few teachers but the team is bigger and it is amazing working with them. Thanks for all these years working together. Thanks also, to our headmaster for all the support. It wouldn’t be possible to work in the European projects if we didn’t have the headmaster’s support. Thanks.

The last but not the least! Our students. These kinds of the projects are for students in the first place. I’m very happy to have worked in the last 3 years with class B from twelfth year but I’m very excited to start working with the new students too. I believe we will have a hard working group. Thanks too.

So, this is a very important moment because we started a new European project. “Education for Sustainable Consumption – a global challenge” this is, really, a big challenge for us… I will try explain our challenge for the next 3 years.

In our school, we have been working in European projects since 2001. We started with Socrates Programme, after Comenius project, eTwinning project and, right now, Erasmus +. This is a new stage in the European projects because we need a hard working team to construct a strong network and produce materials with value to schools. We need students willing to work and willing to establish contacts with colleagues in other schools in order to improve their learning skills. It is very important learn English, the mother language, History, Geography, Biology, ICT and the other subjects at school. If we have more, and more, knowledge we can reflect and make good decisions. European projects opens minds and changes lives.

These kind of projects help all the partners – students, teachers and families – to understand and accept the cultural, historical, religious differences. Helps us also to support free speech and freedom of expression and not to accept the massacre and war in the world. Today, to start this project, “Je suis Charlie”.

You and your colleagues in the project will be the future of the nation. You need to promote peace, work, to have a better environment and a sustainable consumption. I’m very happy to be the leader of this team and together, I believe it is possible to make a good work. I hope it is possible to open minds and change lives.

    Thank you for your attention.

Now, let us know our partners. To start I call to Hungarian teachers to present themselves and their country and school.
