Citius, Altius, Fortius

Every four years, the world's best athletes come together for one of the most exciting competitions in sport: the Olympic Games. The name of the project is the motto of the OG which was written by Pierre de Coubertin in 1894. The important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but take part. Just as the important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle. Pupils will learn more about the idea and the message of the OG. They will get to know the new types of sports and games, traditional and special ones. Pupils will share information about the OG which are more than two thousand five hundred years old. So how did they start, how have they changed over the years? Pupils will create presentations, slideshows, posters, maps, e-magazines about the Modern Olympic Games from 1896 (Athens) to 2020 (Tokyo), design mascot, medals, costumes, do sports and various activities. By writing and speaking in English they will present their idols, true heroes of sport to pupils in Europe.
