Steps in the Water Purification Station :
-
Screening : Water passes through grates that get progressively smaller in order to remove waste particles.
-
Decantation : In a decanting basin, sand falls to the bottom because it’s heavier than the water. Oil rises to the surface since it’s lighter.
-
In this basin, bacteria eat most of the microbes in the water.
-
The water is released back into nature.
Be careful! Don’t drink this water ; it is not potable.
