Using the language and the images to reflect and promote critical thinking may be the best way to learn and practice the language in a collaborative environment. Photovoice is known to be a qualitative method used for community-based participatory research to document and reflect reality. Within this context, students will be asked to express their points of view or represent their communities, interest and concerns by photographing scenes that highlight research topics. Common research themes include social issues and everyday problems to be displayed. These photographs will be collaboratively interpreted through discussions and narratives can be developed to explain how the photos highlight a particular topic.
