Teachers meeting in Finland 2019

    The first meeting of the new KA2 project „My Sustainable Life“ has been completed. The teachers from four schools – Finland, Spain, Germany and Greece – met in Ylivieska/Finland, the home of the coordinating school, in order to participate in workshops about related topics and to outline the future work.

    The first students‘ meeting will be held in Ylivieska at the beginning of February and will focus on climate change. Until then, all participating schools will have to complete various pre-activities.

    The project is funded by the European Union.

    Sunday, 27th October 

    • Arrival of the participants 

     

    Monday, 28th October 

    • 8.25-8.45 Welcome to Jokiranta school, Ylivieska (The headmaster Paula Hartikainen). 

    • 8.45-11.05 Workshop 1: Good Practices in International Projects: Why are Ice Breaking activities needed? Effective Ice Breaking activities to use. Social aspects of the (international) students’ working together: How to prevent conflicts? Conflict management among students. Strengthening European identity. Promote connecting young people. What can teachers do? (Erasmus coordinator Annegret Zozmann).

    • 11.05-11.50 Lunch (school cafeteria). 

    • 11.50-12.35 Workshop 2: Visiting a computer class to find out about Loi Loi -education and the digital tutoring system of Jokiranta school. 

    • 12.35-13.20 Workshop 3: Jokiranta 360°-project: The digital project using 3D-camera for school use. Getting to know the practical implementations (IT and mathematics teacher Markus Översti). 

    • 13.20-14.00 Getting to know the school area, the school and visiting some of the classes. 

    • 14.00-14.45 The short presentations of the schools taking part in this project. 

    • 14.45 -15.30 The common agreements and practices of the project, sharing the duties. The timetable for Learning, teaching & training weeks. 



    Tuesday, 29th October 

    • 8.25-9.10 Workshop 4: Environmental and sustainable activities carried out at IES de Candás. Presentation of Scientix, a community for science education in Europe (Erasmus coordinator Javier Redondas).

    • 9.10-10.15 Workshop 6 (in advance): The new school environments of the new pedagogy in Finland and education in Finland in a nutshell. Basic information for the next day visit (Erasmus coordinators Ulla Kortesuo and Mervi Tikkanen). 

    • 10.15-10.30 Coffee & tea break

    • 10.30-11.05 Workshop 5: Tools for Good Practices: ThingLink and eTwinning platforms (Erasmus coordinator Ulla Kortesuo). 

    • 11.05-11.50 Lunch (school cafeteria). 

    • 11.50-14.30 The common agreements and practices of the project, sharing the duties. The timetable for Learning, teaching & training weeks.The questions and agreements about host families.

    • 14.30-14.40 Introduction of the guests in the beginning the teachers meeting of the Jokiranta school.  

    • Evening program: Traditional wooden sauna and winter swimming.

     

    Wednesday, 30th October

    • 8.13-8.55 Train to Kokkola. 

    • 9.30-12.30 Workshop 6: The new school environments of the new pedagogy in Finland. Visiting Torkinmäki school. 

    • 12.30-15.30 Getting to know the historical old city of Kokkola. 

    • 16.17-17.00 Train to Ylivieska. 

    • 19.00-21.00 The local history museum of Puuhkala & dinner.  

     

    Thursday, 31st October 

    • 8.25-9.25 Workshop 7: Tools for a good practices: using photography in the education. How the Greek school has used photography the last 3 years (Erasmus coordinator Katerina Roumpi).   

    • 9.25-10.15 Workshop 8: Apps on teaching methods: Qr-codes and chatterpix (teacher Georgia Felliou). 

    • 10.15-11.05 Evaluating learning incomes and instructions how to download material in TwinSpace. The common agreements and practices of the project: how to evaluate the later LTTweeks? 

    • 11.05-11.45 Lunch (school cafeteria). 

    • 11.45-12.40 Final ideas about the coming project: What have we agreed, what has to be done next? Certificates of attendances.
