With Food to Tradition and Health

Level: 12-15 Key competencies: civic / gastronomy / language / cultural awareness and expression / digital Subjects: foreign languages / history / cross curricular Activities in this project are focused on exploring and presenting the healthy, organic and traditional food with the emphasis on the local, home-made specialties prepared based on grannies` recipes that have been passed through generations. Pupils look for their grannies and great-grannies` recipes, they notice the value of the homemade, healthy ingredients, analyse the ways how to prepare traditional dishes and become more aware of the importance of preserving old recipes in the vast amount of innovations in the modern cuisine. The participants present what is unique for their local culinary tradition to their partners and explain the medical value of using organic and homemade ingredients.
