Evaluation and feedback

  • The students wrote their evaluation and feedback in Showbie. The feedback was mostly very positive: The courage to collaborate and use English had grown, the ability to communicate even without words had improved and many students had learned new ICT skills as well. They had learned how to solve different problems in creating the story anf filming it.

    Teacher feedback on the project:

    Positive:

    +coding was an excellent new activity                                                                 

    +discussions with teachers were interesting and informative                                  

    +new ideas                                                                                                                     

    +iPads were a big uniting factor.                                                                                       

    +the project integrated different subjects beautifully.                                                                

    +it was good that we had several activities for team building and for building trust        

    +interesting new apps.                                                                                                      

    +in spite of different ages the communication succeeded well.                                      

    +the guided storyboard helped the groups to create the story                                         

    +the output of the Finnish student board was magnificent                                              

    +seeing the students’ growth and communication was heartwarming

    Challenges:

    -results were ok, could have been better in some groups                                                      

    -the presentations could have been more polished                                                                  

    -more time for creating the Keynote presentations would have been needed                         

    -more time for learning how to use Showbie since it was new to the Italian student.                 

    -some Finnish students were ill, some otherwise absent. This influenced the results of some groups.
