Using Virtual Reality for full immersion and intercultural exchanges so that learners of English and German can develop their motivation and confidence to use the languages outside of the classroom.
In small, mixed groups, students in Germany and London will be given the task of creating a virtual tour of a major landmark in London. The goal of the students is to cooperate together so that they create a well thought-out tour with relevant information in German and English so that students all over Europe who are learning German or English can "visit" these landmarks without ever setting foot on a plane. Not only will the students learn more about these landmarks and practice vocabulary, but they will develop intercultural communication skills as they work for a common goal and overcome their differential linguistic competencies. Additionally, they can feel proud that they have produced a learning resource that other students and teachers can use.
