Live the desire for democracy!

This year eTwinning is promoting democratic participation We’d like to talk about the most important expression of democratic participation: voting. We want our students to be aware that voting is a right and a duty,; in some countries it doesn’t still exist and in others it has been a recent achievement.Nowadays abstentionism is a big problem because young generations are not aware that their participation is needed for a real democracy. We’d like to have a playful approach to deepen some very important historical events such as the motivation for the Nobel Peace Prize to the EU, the referendum in Britain(Brexit), the Fall of Berlin Wall, the Suffragettes. Moreover we'd like to talk about our national and European days, flags. mottoes, people who had an important role in the democratic participation ( Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founding Fathers ), the difference between Republic and Kingdom . Students will have the opportunity to practice the right to vote in different situations
