Visit in Turkey 2015

  • December 2015: The three partnerschools from Germany, Latvia and Turky met for their Erasmus Plus project "My School - My Future - My Europe !" in Istanbul at the Ozel Buyukcekmece Anadolu Meslek Lisesi.

Together they informed themselves about the turkish educational system and posibilities for young graduates in europe. Many presentations by the project participants about the german and latvian perspective and about internships from german students gave them an overall impression.

During a visit of a school for students with special needs it was clear that there is still much effort to be made. Not only for the state to support these schools, but also in informing about these schools. Many of these kids are still sent to normal schools.

The german students showed a few presentations about their internships and afterwards the students were introduced in the turkish education system. Another topic was the turkish law system which was also compared to other countries like the USA and Germany.

Furthermore, the students got the chance to visit a turkish chocolate factory and in addition to that they were invited to some local desserts and turkish tea.

It was possible for the students to visit the Boğaziçi University on the asian part of Istanbul where they had a beautiful view on the Bosporus. At last the students saw some attractions like the Hagia Sophia, the blue Mosque, the Bosporus and a bazaar.

One drop of bitterness was marring the impression: Traffic jam !

Apart from that it was all in all an unforgetable experience.

Below is a short video about the meeting which will give you a good impression.
