Management.

  • Please describe the tasks and responsibilities of each partner school. Explain how you will ensure sound management of the project and good cooperation and communication between partners during project implementation.

    Each school will set up an O.W.L.  team which will be involved in the planning and

    coordination of the scheduled activities and will be composed by:

    -Headteacher;

    -project coordinator;

    -teachers of English, to boost the pupils' linguistic competence;

    -teachers of different subjects (according to the activities to be carried out);

    The coordinating Greek school will be responsible to:

    • coordinate and monitor the project implementation during its life-span;

    • provide and facilitate continuous communication amongst schools;

    • propose solutions to any problem that may arise;

    • control and monitor the project implementation in relation to the carrying out of all the activities asset in an agreed timetable and / or in the case that changes might be necessary;

    • control budget.

    The French school will be responsible to:

    • create and maintain the project’s blog.

    The Spanish school will be responsible to:

    • create and maintain the eTwinning O.W.L. project.

    • set up the virtual eTwinning meetings. One will be carried out each month.

    The U.K.’s  school will be responsible to:

    • evaluate the O.W.L. project throughout its life-span (using google forms or any other digital tool).

    The Finnish school will be responsible to:

    • organize and give instructions to partners for all digital products that will be created during the project.

    The Hungarian school will be responsible to:

    • manage (layout, content e.t.c.) the O.W.L. magazine that will be the final product of our project. The O.W.L. magazine will be consisted be 4 parts. One for each category of our legends.


     

    The general role of the partner schools is to:

    -cooperate in the planning of the project activities;

    -organise and carry out all the planned activities according to the schedules, unless changes were necessary;

    -take part in the regular virtual project meetings;

    -participate in the dissemination activities through the regular updating of the O.W.L. blog;

    -participate in the budget control and the evaluation of the project;

    In addition, each school will perform the following tasks:

    -share the project (aims, objectives, results) inside the Teachers' Board and with pupils and their

    families;

    -organize accomodation for the visiting teachers and pupils, including excursions and cultural visits during meetings and mobilities;

    -create a video presentation about its school and town to be sent to all the other partners at the beginning of the project in order to let the pupils know the participating schools;

    -write articles on the project (local newspapers and/or radios and TVs);

    -prepare a final report.

    All our activities are going to be included in our schools’ educational programs and curriculums. They will be supported by our school organization rules, and according to national and EU legislations and regulations. When the activities are included to the normal school work, also the schools’ insurances will be valid. We will double check the insurances for the transnational events.

    Naturally we will try to avoid any conflict by planning the activities as carefully as possible, and by choosing the least risky ones. We work and discuss possible conflict risks in advance with students, teachers and families: we talk about cultural sensitivity, different habits, being homesick, health issues etc. In case of a conflict we naturally try to use mediation resolution processes. There are also normative rules of schools, head teachers’ and other local authorities to follow.

    Budget control will be managed by the Head and the administrative manager who will ensure it

    through an accurate planning of any cost and will keep the project team regularly informed about it. Budget data will also be reported to the School governing body. Any purchase (materials, travels, accomodation, etc.,) will come as a result of a cost comparison, to contain costs.

    Time management will be ensured by setting a detailed work-plan specifying activities and their

    deadlines, times of implementation, priorities, and the role played by each school. Each institution will commit to follow the schedule and deadlines. We will trust each other, and these commitments. In case something unpredictable occurs, and delays are probable we will have an immediate skype-meeting, and we will negotiate a solution that will be applied to all partners. This doesn’t mean that we would skip the activities, but reorganize them.  Each partner is obligated to inform the others of any acts risking the project activities.

    How did you choose the project partners? Does your project involve schools that have never participated in a Strategic Partnership? If yes, please explain how more experienced schools can support less experienced partners during the project.

    Coordinator and partners come into touch through the Erasmus+ forums of the eTwinning Live platform.

    The partner schools have been chosen on the basis of:

    -type of school, with specific interest for the theme of reading legends.

    -geographical position: it has been given preference to schools located in a wide area that would

    cover the European territory from north to south and from east to west;

    -motivation to invest in international projects.

    The Greek, the Spanish and the Finnish partner schools have never been involved in a Strategic Partnership. All the remaining partners, having all taken part in European projects, can offer their expertise and advices in order to help them during the life-span of the project in all the different aspects:

    -organization of LTTs,

    -budget management,

    -internal organization for the project-related activities,

    -dissemination of the project and of its results.

    The Spanish partner had never participated in an Erasmus+ KA2 partnership but has a European eTwinning Label so it can give advice and its expertise to its partners.
