Learning is only meaningful when pupils are actively engaged to experiment beyond passively listening, that’s why the I.D.E.A.L. project (an acronym for "Innovating by Doing Experiments About Leonardo") strives to involve students between 9 and 12 years of age in the learning process more directly through the methodology of tinkering-making which fosters the STEAM skills (Science, Technology, Art and Mathematics) and supports students to recognize their talents to find their way in life.

Leonardo da Vinci is the reference point, the bridge between past and future. The genius, who is best known as an artist, also worked as a scientist and an inventor and applied the scientific method to every aspect of life, including art and music.

The project I.D.E.A.L.  has the double aim to arouse the pupils' interest towards the cultural heritage and to involve students in FABLABs mobilizing the most technical and cross-curricular skills of know-how.

In FABLABs pupils can experience what they are studying, can combine theoretical reflection with manual skills, using "craft" tools and digital methodologies.
