This project is a joint educational venture with activities that aim to encourage students, local communities, educational and cultural institutions to collaborate in educative and practical initiatives on a multicultural level promoting the understanding, promotion and preservation of cultural heritage within a European context. Six European schools from the Czech Republic, Finland, Cyprus, Spain, Italy and Turkey agreed on a two-year cooperation on this topic, these six schools realized that the "Roots" project will help their students and teachers to enlarge their overview of culture, traditions, roots and cultural heritage. For every nation it is essential to know its history and tradition and take care about its cultural heritage and at the same time to enrich knowledge on a local and European level through the learning and sharing of each other countries' culture and traditions
