    THE FLATMATES

    September-

    mid-October

     1. Students first choose a quarter so each quarter consists of members from all countries-so that the teams are all mixed-international. All students will interact in the forum and decide on further activities. The camp consists of six neighbourhood: blue, green, red, yellow, purple, orange.

    2. Then the students will get to know each other and introduce themselves in the forum.

    3. What about our logo? Each team or country can create one and then we can vote on Tricider?

    October-

    November

    4. Each team will have certain letters of the alphabet eg. Blue team=A to E, green team= F- K, etc so that they can make building only from these letters (so that there is variety). Brainstorming takes place with buildings and places they can include in their map. We can use https://www.mindmeister.com to create a collaborative mind map.

    5. They draw the maps of their quarters. Each group can design the outdoors that is a park, a garden with trees, flowers, benches, ... amenities for children and teenagers. The general outline of the quarter will be the same for all so that a collage will be made. (teachers will print them and each student from the same quarter draws by hand a square-they draw the buildings, places, shops and the flats. Or we can use the google docs document so that they can draw using the tools offered by google.)

    6. Each team names one street after a famous person from their country. Students from each country find information about these famous people (group and individual writing). Thinglink can be used to present the information.

    December-January

    7. Each one draws their room. The blocks of flats will have as many as the students (rooms can be shared) . We can use scratch and add audio too with a description of their rooms.

    8. Exchange of Christmas cards

    9. Video conference to introduce members of each international team: students prepare question cards and randomly they choose a question to ask. All students will be given a number so that the choice of the student to answer is also at random.

    February

    10. Flatmates can decide what chores need to be done and make a weekly schedule. Rules can also be made. They can talk about and exchange ideas about phones, cigarettes, noise, for example stop making a noise by 10:00 pm., take the bins out, collect the mail, ... the chores : going shopping, cooking, etc.

    March-April

    11. Various events will then be organized (each group will be responsible for one):

    • a dinner party (talk about food and they will choose the menu with recipes from the countries involved)- teach how to write recipes
    • dance and music day-choose the music for the party (talk about music types and suggest songs)- traditional dances or even they could sing and the music teacher could make them sing.
    • quiz night: make a quiz about all countries involved- history and geography, sports
    • a birthday party
    • a party for pancake day, ... shrove Tuesday, Valentine's Day

    May

    12. Evaluation of the project

At the end of the project, we could imagine a whole party with all the flatmates, it could be a BBQ. They could talk about their experience and share it with the other flatmates. It will allow us to make the evaluation of the project.  Another idea Marie had is that for the last day they could organize the neighbours' day when they could talk about their experiences, and to celebrate that day, they could create a big poster. A quiz, a google form created by each group.
