    Peppermint Candy Canes UK

Today, in Maple class, we used different colours of icing to make our own peppermint candy canes and then added peppermint essence to make them even more special!
Candy canes are a Christmas symbol and they represents the shape of a shepherd's crook. Jesus, the Good Shepherd, was born on Christmas. He brought the lost lambs back to the fold. The red stripe represents blood, Christ's sacrifice, and the white stands for his purity. If you turn it upside down, the letter J stands for Jesus!

    Tea Cakes Christmas puddings

Today, in Maple class – Little Hadham Primary School, we made Tea Cakes Christmas puddings! We decorated tea cakes by drizzling icing on the cakes and then moulded holly leaves and berries to decorate them! Simple, easy, fun and delicious!

    Christmas cakes - UK

Willow Class - Year 6 (England) have been baking this week and the smell of Christmas has wafted around the corridors of Little Hadham Primary School.

In between the blending of sugar and butter, the binding of flour and cracking of eggs, the children had the option to add cinnamon, ginger, vanilla essence and orange peel to their mix. Once baked their artistic skills were used to decorate the iced creations. Adorned with snowflakes, gingerbread men, Christmas trees and holly the cake was surrounded in ribbon. A festive (and edible) sight to see.

Traditional Lituanian christmas decoration is made from straws. We made only one element. Traditionaly these elements are joined together and formed a beautiful decoration called "Sodas"
