  • The "Act for Peace" Campaign, designed and implemented by the Club for Peace Act+ within "Virgil Madgearu" Technological Economic High School, Iasi - Romania, during the school year 2019-2020

    The Campaign has three directions of action:

    - Act for You

    - Act for Community

    - Act for Nature

    and was presented during the Transnational Learning Activity organised in Warsaw, Poland, between the 19th and the 25th of October, 2019.

     The ACT FOR YOU campaign was initiated by Eduard, who proposed to conduct within his peers more interactive activities, designed to make his colleagues discover themselves. He set out to share with them from his own experience:

    1. How to avoid a conflicting situation;
    2. Opportunities to discover that they have various artistic skills: some know how to sing, others to dance, while others can be actors;
    3. Counselling, together with specialists, to help them choose the right career.
    4. Promoting an active life, through practising various sports, to restore confidence in young people and to attract them as much as possible to sports activities and to get a proper nutrition.

    For this final objective, Eduard organized sport competitions in which more and more students were involved. These activities had numerous benefits. Some of them are: team spirit, lifetime friendships, mental and physical health, motivation.

    The ACT FOR NATURE CAMPAIGN was supposed to trigger an alarm signal regarding the degradation of the environment. The volunteering students in our high school organized a campaign, coordinated by Ameer and Irvin, to raise awareness on the process of degradation of nature, which proves the destructive effects of human actions on the environment. The campaign was structured in two main activities:

    1. TOGETHER FOR NATURE

    2. NATURE THROUGH THE LENS

    TOGETHER FOR NATURE

    Students learned what it means to think ecologically, to collect different kinds of waste. They were involved in cleaning actions, to purify our environment, or in planting trees and flowers to create more green spaces. The students were also invited to take part in larger activities, such as collecting litter, to valorize it, or recycling. Our ultimate goal was to educate both students and their families to maintain a clean, healthy and pleasant climate in school and the community they live in.

    The objectives of this activity were:

    1. Raising the information and awareness level regarding the selective collecting issue and waste recycling among students by involving them in different kind of positive competitions;

    2. Promoting ecological education in school;

    3. Developing an environmental-friendly attitude in young people.

    The Objectives of the activity:

    1. Acknowledging and using some specific terms and concepts from the Natural Sciences;

    2. Exercising the ability to explore and investigate the environment and the laws of nature;

    3. Forming a positive attitude towards nature through stimulating the interest in keeping a balanced environment;

    4. Developing skills for its protection and long-term care.
