The European ABC-book project

  • The project is about creating an ABC-book using the diversity of languages in Europe.

It is dedicated to students aged 5 to 10.

ABC-books are well-known by children since their young age. Creating one is a key step for them, proving that they are beginning to think as school students, particularly if their work is used in other schools in other countries to learn a foreign language. Each classroom involved in this project will create an ABC-book, using some 1st grade skills (writing letters, drawing a picture of a word with this letter…). The use of modern technology, like voice recordings via qr codes, could make this project even more lively.

    Aims of this project are:

    - to learn about the different languages in Europe

    - to find differences and similarities between the shape of letters in Europe

    - to create an object by cooperation between students all over Europe

    - to discover the different countries of our continent

This project is "eTwininning plus" friendly: the more students from different countries participate, the more the ABC-book is complete.

    Work process:

Depending on the number of classes wishing to participate, the project could start in September 2018 and end in December 2018.

    Expected results:

The final product of the project would be a multilingual ABC-book illustrated and put in voice (via qr codes) by students.

This ABC-book is meant to be a the same time a physical book and virtual, accessible by twinspace.
