a. SHORT DESCRIPTION:
The project is aimed at cultural orientation and language development.
Students are expected to create a collaborative magazine in English (five pages per partner school), with 4-5 issues, both digital and printed. The topics will be drawn from their course book, their school curriculum subjects and their school activities and will be focused around the things that interest them.
Age of students: 9-12
b. AIMS:
- To make students aware of cultural similarities and differences
- To make students sensitive to people of different origins
- To make students eager to broaden their horizons
- To motivate students to learn English for communication purposes
- To make learning English more fun and effective
- To develop linguistic and ICT skills
- To develop students’ communication and social skills
- To promote co-operation between schools
- To familiarize students with magazines and teach them the different roles they could have as reporters, photographers, artists, editors, etc.
- To create a collaborative magazine in English

d. WORK PROCESS:
SEPTEMBER
- TEACHERS: Introduce project and the twinspace to the students, invite students to Twinspace, inform the parents about the project and ask for their consent to use photos/videos of the students in the twinspace
- TEACHERS: First online teacher meetup to discuss details/problems/make suggestions
- TEACHERS: All the teachers help organize the twinspace, they get informed about project activities required of them as well as the deadlines, they upload a little information about themselves/their schools/their towns to get to know each other (tools: google maps, google calendar, linoit, biteable) {if the project starts in the summer, we can do that earlier than September}
- STUDENTS: Find a name - design a logo: contest among the partner schools about the title and logo of the magazine
- STUDENTS: Make their twinspace profile
OCTOBER
- STUDENTS: Discuss and prepare the 1st issue
- STUDENTS: Online meeting (topic: me, my daily routine and leisure time)
- TEACHERS and/or STUDENT ADMINISTRATORS: Publish the 1st issue “DAILY ROUTINE vs. LEISURE TIME”
NOVEMBER - DECEMBER
- TEACHERS: Second online teacher meetup
- STUDENTS: Discuss and prepare the 2nd issue “COUNTRIES & CITIES THAT I LIKE
- TEACHERS and/or STUDENT ADMINISTRATORS: Publish the 2nd issue
- STUDENTS & TEACHERS: Exchange Christmas & New Year cards (via mail or/and the twinspace)
JANUARY - FEBRUARY
- STUDENTS: Discuss and prepare the 3rd issue “GOOD – BETTER – BEST”
- STUDENTS: Online meeting (topic: my city/my country)
- TEACHERS and/or STUDENT ADMINISTRATORS: Publish the 3rd issue
MARCH - APRIL
- STUDENTS: Discuss and prepare the 4th issue “SPORTS, GAMES, BOOKS, FILMS, MUSIC & MORE!”
- STUDENTS: Online meeting (topic: my favourite sport/book/film/video etc.)

MAY

f. EXPECTED RESULTS:
- Mobilizing cultural, scientific and technological knowledge to understand the world around us and to approach situations and problems of our daily life;
- Doing activities in an autonomous, responsible and creative way whilst cooperating with others in common tasks and projects;
- Using languages from different cultural, scientific and technological areas adequately to express oneself, especially through the use of images, gestures, sounds, illustrations or diagrams;
- Mobilizing linguistic and paralinguistic resources in verbal interaction, in the reception and production of oral and written texts, having in sight adequate performances in communicative situations;
- Using mother and foreign languages to communicate in daily situations, gathering knowledge and structuring self-awareness and European awareness
