    The beginnings of Liceum Ogólnokształcące Nr I im. mjra Henryka Sucharskiego in Kępno go back to 1912, when it was established as a building. In the present form, as a Polish school, liceum has been functioning Since 1920- the time when Kępno regained its independence. The school is the oldest in the Kępno district. 

    At present  about 400 students attend our school. They are divided into 12 classes in 3 grades. Classes have different profiles: math-physics, math-IT, biology-chemistry, humanistic. About 40 teachers and other workers about employed  in the school.

    Our school gives its students a lot of opportunities to develop their interests and personalities. Everyone can find something suitable for them.

    There are many annual parties and celebrations in the school: welcoming of first-grade students, half-school ball, the ball held 100 days before Matura exams, occasional discos, Christmas celebrations and many more.

    In the years 2000-2010 a lot of classrooms were established or renovated: 2 IT suites and a physics classroom were equipped and modernized, the school library was turned into the multimedia centre. In 2008 a chemistry lab was also equipped and modernized and CCTV cameras were installed inside and outside of the school. The fund for all the improvements were obtained from the Ministry of National Education and from the European Social Fund.

    To improve foreign language skill of its students, the school has been in an exchange program with Gymnasium Ulricianum in Aurich, Germany since 1994. Since 1996, the school has also been a part of the program ‘Lifelong Learning Programme’, set by Foundation for the Development of the Education System, within the Comenius Project. Since 2014 the school has a part of the program ERASMUS+.

    The school plays an active part in the life of its district, which results in various activities organized by the school, such as: sport competitions,  District Theatre Contest, District Foreign Language Song Contest.

    Education in our 3-year grammar school ends with an external exam called Matura. The results of Matura exams classify our school  very high in the secondary schools ranking (grammar schools category) every year. The ranking is published by the ‘Rzeczpospolita’ newspaper.
