Barcelona Hosts / Hungarian Guests

  • Barcelona meeting

I had a very fun week in Barcelona. I met some nice people and we became good friends. This week thaught me a lot of things about life and how different are we people based on our nation. But in anoter way we are just the same.

Of course the more fun part of the week was when we, the kids, were alone in the afternoon and did sightseeing and some events together but the official program of the project was nice too. This project is for volunteering. In Hungary we did some voluteer work with our team and i thought we were good at this. Well, as we find out the kids there, in Barcelona did a lot of things too. It was nice too see how they like those things what they were doing. We had to did presentation about our communiti service what we did in the years. Everybody were talking about their volunteer work with a lot of passion and like they had fun while doing it. They did not think that work was something that they had to do. They were talking about that if that was something they liked to do. I think it is very important not to tell them if they had tod o it. The task is to show them it is something they should like to do. To help needy people. Any people who needs help. We have to help them, because humanity without helping these people is nothing. If we just does not care about them than who will? They are still people, and we can make a difference with these projects. I think this is why it is important for schools to apply project like this. We learn a lot of things about how to be better and better human through these.

The first part was about how the official part was. But i have to mantion the afternoons with the hosts and friends. We had a lot of fun. They showed us the city, took us some fun places. My host family was very nice. They gave me everything to make this week the best for me. Took me to restaurances, to the beach and literally everywhere where i just wanted. They were so nice that i still don’t know how to thank them. I cannot express myself in words. We talked about a lot of things with them they told me interesting things about the city. And i becamo very good friends with my host, Angela. She was so nice to me too. We went to shopping together ont he last they, we spent the whole day only together. It was a very nice ending of this week.

I had a friend from here, because i already knew some Spanish from the Budapest meeting. She was my guest when they came to Hungary, but she changed school so she is not in the project anymore. But when i told her i am here she came to us and we could meet again after one year. I cannot tell how much i waited this moment. I wanted to go to Barcelona with the project to see her again, and when it finally happened i couldn’t believe it. And from another project i knew a Romanian girl who i was friend with too. And as it came out her fater is Spanish and she was in Barcelona at the same time as me. So we met with her too again. And one of my school mates was in Barcelona for holyday so we met with him too.

This is all the reasons why i think these projects are very nice for us. It changes us and shows us that we cannot see in other ways. It gives us a little bite of every culture. And if we travel with these projects we can know the real ciy not that one what the tourists see. It is totally different, and way better.

    My Barcelona experience

This was my first journey with an erasmus project. I enjoyed it a lot. I have been to fantastic places and met interesting people.

The day when we arrived I was really tired. But I was excited about to meet with my host, who I was hosting in Budapest. After that we went home, to have lunch. It was interesting to see how they eat, they don t use butter, but they put tomato and olive oil on their bread. Also fun that they don t put off their shoes at home. My whole host family was really kind to me, I liked being with them.
On the first day we went to the city centre for a sightseeing tour. We have seen the cathedral. In the evening I went to a dinner, where I met with other erasmus participants.
on the first school day we have made presentations about how we do volunteer work in our schools. It was great to see and share ideas with eachother. We also had a view on the school. For me it was fantastic to see this school, I really like the system and how the school community works.
During the week we visited other volunteer organisations in the city, and listened to presentations. We had programmes to get to know the city better. And we also did volunteer work in food banks. On the evenings and the afternoons we went to the beach or to sightseeing.
All in one, I really enjoyed this week, I ve met new people, tried out new foods, and saw a beautiful city.

This was my first tour with Erasmus+, and I have to say it was awesome. Great company and beautiful place.

The first day was the hardest of all because of the early flight and of course to connect with my host and his family. Don’t get me wrong it was hard due to my tiredness, he and his family were really kind from the first moment to the last, they were like the perfect hosts. It was very interesting to see the differences between our habits and theirs like in Hungary if we get into a house we take of our shoes for practical reason, at my hosts they don’t, of course I asked around and the others said the same. Another big difference was their attitude and seeing things from other perspectives. The programs of the project were really good and varied, like we presented to each other we went to see presentations about the organizations they work with and we worked with them also for example the food bank. Obviously, the afternoons were really cool also, we went to sightseeing or just chill at the beach. We saw most of the tourist attractions. Fun fact I don’t really remember why but I saw the Sagrada Familia four times that week, I don’t mind it but it’s funny.

In summary it was a very good week and I’m looking forward to similar opportunities in the future.

It was 4AM when we met at the airport on Saturday. It was very early in the morning, I was tired, but also excited about the week we are ahead of. After the plane landed I met the my hosting family, they were all very kind. On the first two days we went to see the city, the most touristic places so we can get that out of the way. The first impressions of the city was great, I really liked the mood of it in a positive way. On Monday I met the others at the school, we got to know each other a bit. The main activity was that we looked which country is working with wath NGO's. The organized program finished at 15:30, so we had plenty of time to be in the city before it gets late. The whole week we had a lot of free time, which was awesome. Through the week the programs were well organised, sometimes they were a bit slow, but in the end they were all exciting. We always spent the afternoon together or in smaller groups for example on Wednesday we went to the beach, or on friday we had diner all together.
In summary I really enjoyed the week from start till the end, It was awesome to meet them, to work with the guys from other countries. Can't wait to see them again. Thank you!
