During the implementation of the project we will study some of the largest and most important Geoparks in the Balkan Peninsula, integrated into the UNESCO World Geopark Network
A. Psiloritis Geopark, one of the two global Geoparks of Crete with impressive forms of relief, caves and karst forms, fossil sites, an important natural environment with elements of human interaction with it, a unique relief and a beautiful coastline.
B. Geopark of Lesvos, which is a network rich in geotopes and habitats, archaeological sites, monuments, the unique "Preserved Monument of Nature", hiking in the unique natural environment where Aristotle and Theophrastus walked.
C. Papouk Geopark in Croatia, which is a protected area due to its exceptional geological, local, biological and cultural diversity, which is rarely observed in Croatia. It is made of rocks whose age probably varies about 400 million years, from Paleozoic, through sedimentary sediments that reach the newer geological features
