MODULE 5 CULTURE FOR ALL, THE PRACTICE OF THE eTWINNING PROJECT

  • Students and teachers analysed the relationship between our society and the European Cultural Heritage. The conclusions, connected with our areas of work are:

1.People with functional diversity: Some monuments have proper access to people with disabilities. But there is still more to be done, for instance: materials accessible to blind people.

    2. Equality:Although so many women are behind our European Cultural Heritage, it seems that they are virtually invisible. Only few names of women are recognized as the authors of our cultural expression.

    3. Cultural tolerance: Nowadays, Europe is the result of the combination of people who live here and came from other countries. Our Cultural heritage is the result of this mixture of cultures.

    4. Homeless people: Even though hostile architecture prevents people from lingering in public spaces, they are, in some cases, the main actors of our artwork.

The previous modules have given us a reliable basis to know that our community is made up of different citizens, everyone with their individuality who have the right to enjoy, spread and create their own cultural events.

IMPLEMENTATION OF SOME STREET ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT BY STUDENTS(PROJECT-BASED LEARNING)

Taking all of these conclusions into account, students and teachers decided to put this project into practice. The idea was to try to notice people we are surrounded by culture. I think we made it!!

    WORK PLAN:

    1. VISIT OF THE NEIGBOURHOODS OF LA MARIOLA AND HISTORIC CENTRE(Lleida): Neigbourhood observation(streets, squares and passerbies), talks to people who live there and interviews with NGOs which are working in the district.(12 March 2018)

    2. NGOs ASK STUDENTS TO PREPARE A PROJECT FOCUSED ON CULTURAL HERITAGE, CIVIC BEHAVIOUR AND INTERGENERATIONAL RELATIONSHIP(12 March 2018).

TARGET GROUP: CHILDREN, YOUNG PEOPLE, ADULTS (AND ALSO FAMILIES), AND OLD PEOPLE.

    3. STUDENTS PREPARE SIX ACTIVITIES TO TAKE PLACE ON THE STREETS.(21 March 2018).

    4. THE DRAFT OF THE ACTIVITIES ARE PRESENTED TO THE NGOs, THEIR PROFESSIONALS REVISE THEM AND GIVE US ADVICE TO HAVE SUCCESS DOING THEM(24 April 2018).

    5. PREPARATION(14-22 May 2018)

    4. DISSEMINATION OF THE ACTIONS(23 May 2018).

    5. EXECUTION OF THE ACTIVITIES AND EVALUATION(28-31 May 2018).

This is the moto of the practical part of our eTwinning project:

                      "EUROPEAN CULTURAL HERITAGE IS EVERYWHERE"

Just like our Spanish partners have written, European Cultural Heritage is everywhere!

Our school has been working on a theatre play since the beginning of the school year 2017-18. Theatre is closely connected to culture, in fact it is one of its greatest expressions. Below, you can see the posters prepared for our performance that is to take place on the 29th June. The play was written by Mr Katerelos, a teacher working at our school, 1st Senior High School of Kesariani. Mr Kouris, who also worked for the play, is interviewed with a student taking part in our eTwinning project and the play. We do hope that we will be able to play theatrical games when our Spanish partners visit us in September 2019 within the framework of Move2Learn!
