The Loire river runs through the southern territory in the north. It is a natural area rich in biodiversity.

Crossing the town, the river has nevertheless long been frowned upon by the local residents, abandoned. The rediscovery of this space, while preserving its ecological richness and restoring degraded areas is a real challenge.

Three successive programs

• The first program was implemented from 2004 to 2009. He especially helped major restoration and opening to the public of annexes of the Loire (former gravel pits, oxbows) and the creation of several portions trails Loire.
• A second program, from 2010 to 2015, also included environmental actions (scientific monitoring, middle knowledge studies, environmental rehabilitation, ...), actions of tourism development and advocacy.
• The third program began in 2016 and will end in 2020. It has two main components: improving public reception on sites and rehabilitation of the environment. Actions with farmers will also be conducted so that farmers take into account the environment in their practices.
