PROJECT FEEDBACK

  • 1st transnational project meeting in protocol 20.11.2017

    20.11.2017 13.00-16.00
Head of the meeting: Karolin Kabanen
    Protocol: Merilin Mandel

Participants: Esin Acartürk Aslan (Turkey), Önder Evcüman (Turkey), Ebru Evcüman (Turkey), Silvia Frincu (Romania), Cupliu Daniela (Romania), Billie Konstantarariga (Greece), Petros Georgiakakis (Greece), Merle Perm (Estonia), Karolin Kabanen (Estonia), Kaia Talve (Estonia), Merilin Mandel (Estonia)

    1. Introductory presentations about participating schools and kindergartens

-Turkey (Elementary school with 700 kids and 29 classes, ages 7-11. Values patriotic, sentimental and healthy education.)

-Greece (12 classes, 24 kids in a class. IB, multiple-intelligence school. Kindergarten in Greece obligatory for ages 5-7. Flip-classes. Takes part in 8 European projects.)

    2. Meetings

Proposed to change the meeting in Greece from February to May. Everyone agrees. February will be left for Italy if they participate (pt 3).

    Greece: May 27th - June 2nd 2018

    Turkey - March 18-24th 2018

    Romania - October  21-27th 2018

    Estonia - January 27th - February 2nd 2019

    Turkey - 2nd Transnational meeting May 19-21st 2019

3.Question of Italy - what should we do if they will not contact?
Proposed: we have to wait, give them more time to take part. If they don’t show up by December, we leave them out.

If Italy drops out, we can maybe go to Turkey instead - the project states that you can substitute one country for another for a good reason.

    4. Questionnaires

Will cut down to 30 questions altogether to present to kids in the beginning and in the end - what have the kids learnt? Only with older children, maybe? Very difficult to find a common way since the age-groups are very different in participating schools. So let’s change them -  let’s leave flag, map, capital, currency, language, logos, EU flag, Erasmus+ logo. Optical questions - circle the one option (greece will do 4 questions). Other questions about club topics - nr 37, 38, 35 (which planet is blue). At least 10 questionnaires for country - each participant chooses whether they go through them with kids individually or in a group.

    5. Checklist - details

Can students participate in more than one club? Yes, if they want, the number of kids in a group is not limited.

Can a digital monitor be an interactive projector? Of course. A video shown on the wall will also be an option. Romania would prefer just a stationary wall with photos.

Instead of the hosting country presenting all the games and experiments, everyone will bring one game or experiment to a meeting. Same with the science magazine - it’s for kids, so best practices, photos (of activities, tools). Everyone uses the same form presented in the folder to document activities.

A1-18 - how is it done? Most if it was done before the project or during it, so there is no way to document visually every single point (travel manuals, data analysing).

    7. Clubs and activities

    -Science club 2018 february

We’re gonna share all the information on our project web-page. Every school presents every single point in the plan in the science clubs’ meeting in Greece.

    -Maths club may 2018

Chess can be substituted for checkers, for example.

    -Language club nov 2018

Instead of a play in english only, english can be intertwined into it with the local language. Participants need to take videos of the implementation (theatre play, song contest etc).

“Visit of a famous foreign person” - who is famous for kids? Instead of famous, can just be a person from another country speaking in english - or, the travelling teachers can themselves be the ones!

    -Technology club feb 2019

Hovercraft, lego blocks to build hovercraft. Code.org - back-end system for learning analytics. E-twinning is easy enough to use for teachers. We need to find a way to present photos with parents’ agreements.

    8. Project management

-Karolin uploads all the documents to eTwinning

-What is the age group? - Karolin

-Partners’ tasks and coordinating tasks -  project groups in school (same teachers go to same meetings, otherwise it’s difficult to understand anything)

-Agreeing -  if we need to buy something, we should know it beforehand (send e-mail stating the costs)

-We show presentation to kids so they know what countries are involved

-Karolin is figuring out how to monitor the activities (monthly report); if email is sent the participants have to answer in 2 days.

-Project concerning talk/text/info aso via e-mail everything else wherever!

-Karolin makes a Facebook group and e-mail group

-Logo - the existing yellow one is easier to implement, but the other one is more fun to use. Both can be used, but no background. The project logo should be ready by 4th of december.

    9. Courses

If a participating country wants to prepare a course for the teachers, they can do that. If a foreign teachers wants to follow through an activity with the hosting school’s children, they can do that with the help of local teachers.
