  • FIRST TRANSNATIONAL MEETING IN SPAIN AGENDA

    1. Logo competition ( start date-end date/ set criteria for the philosophy of the logo/  decide on techniques to be used with possible use of online tools and software/ decide on the method of voting/ prizes to be given to first, second and  third place)
    2. Avatar competition for the character of Ody ( start date-end date/ set criteria for the philosophy of the avatar/  decide on techniques to be used with possible use of online tools and software/ decide on the method of voting/ prizes to be given to first, second and  third place)
    3. Finalize dates for the short-term exchange in Greece and the second transnational meeting in Cyprus- review numbers of participating students and accompanying teachers- review funds available for each partner and discuss details such as the issues of accommodation and travel, ages of students and set objectives for the amount of work to be done by the time of the short-exchange
    4. The web comic
    • Familiarization with the software ComicLab ( downloading the software,  learning how to use it and training the students to use it)
    •  Each partner’s draft or summary of the plot that will take place in their country ( 6 chapters)
    • Decide on the length/ word limit of each chapter
    • Decide the ways in which the European values and ethnic  stereotypes described in the application will be brought out through the plot
    • Discuss the type of material to be embedded in the form of hyperlinks developing the students’ transversal competencies in the five fields of learning described in the application, that is ICT, English, Geography, Citizenship and Cultural History/ decide on the format and tools to be used- Web 2.0 technologies (eg. text, sound, pictures, Google maps, History Pin, apps for helping refugees get help etc.)
    • Discuss the ways in which Homer’s the Odyssey can be compared to the hero’s journey across the six countries and give examples of how Homeric idiomatic expressions can be used by the hero to reflect the modern world and his ordeal
    • Decide on how many chapters will be written and by which partners in the first year of the project
    • Are the partners going to translate their chapters in their native language?

    • Decide when the project homepages will be ready to use and briefly explain how they will be used by both students and teachers

    • Set  standards for collaboration between the teachers as well as the students and discuss ways of being able to work collectively and at the same time

    • Discuss what each partner intends to do to make the project more visible in their country and abroad ( create a dissemination plan)
    • Discuss the methods of evaluation of the success of dissemination/ conduct a stakeholder analysis ( decide what people or organizations we are going to target)
    • Discuss ways of publicizing all dissemination events
    • Discuss the material to be used and how much of the budget needs to be earmarked for that purpose
    1. Measurement tools
    • Sum up all the tools we are going to use to measure quality and quantity ( annual plan, dissemination plan, dissemination report, observation grid of student participation, feedback questionnaires, statistical analysis of the number of visits to website and Facebook group, percentage charts of people interested in the project eg. parents, other schools, the local authorities etc.)
    1. Contingency plan
    • Agree on what should be done in case of delays/ failure to meet deadlines, conflicts between teachers or students or problems with the budget
    • Decide on the most convenient way of communication for everyone so that problems are solved without a delay
    1. Organizing our students for the project activities
    • Decide on the number of students we are going to use for the project/ the number of work teams that will be engaged in collaborative work
    • Discuss the use of the students’ process portfolios and showcase portfolios as described in the application
    • Decide how much of the students’ work will be made public on the websites/ how often their work will be uploaded
    • Decide on methods of assessment of the students’ work and the frequency of assessment from the teachers
    1. Budget Management
    • Discuss how the budget can be managed as effectively as possible
    • Clarify which costs are eligible and which are not
    • How we intend to record all expenses incurred during the project
    • Discuss if we intend to transfer organizational funds for the project to student mobilities etc.
