Learning/Teaching/Training Activities in Poland

  • Between the 22nd and 28th April 2018, the second training visit within the Erasmus+ project (My passion – my future) took place in Poland. School of the main coordinator Szkoła Podstawowa nr 1 im Armii Krajowej in Gostynin hosted pupils and teachers from partner schools in the project.

On the first day, there was a teachers' meeting where we discussed the details of the visit, Welcoming ceremony, getting to know the school and a photo exhibition showing the progress of the project activities in our schools and the visit to Spain in March.

The students participated in the International Song Festival. Another interesting activity was the Mini Theatre Play where students demonstrated their communication skills and a good stage performance. Our students have been collaborating in team activities in E+ clubs and creating mini-glossary of IT terms. They enjoyed a location-based game – Our town is interesting. They also participated in Music and PE lessons.

In the activities of the learning / teaching / training teachers participated in ICT – programming classes (Hour of code), coding without a computer (with the use of a Playmat), English language classes – Using interactive language teaching programmes in the 5th grade, Games as a tool in teaching English language to young learners. It was useful to learn how to keep children concentrated in an English lesson, conducted by Anna Lesinska - Gazicka, a methodologist.

We learnt the history of the Castle, had a sightseeing tour and enjoyed tea time. Everybody liked The performance at the Community centre.

We also managed to find time for other kinds of entertainment such as visiting the Museum of Gingerbread and The Innovation Centre Mill of Knowledge. We visited Tadeusz Biniewicz, a sculptor and painter from Gostynin in his studio.

In the Town Hall, we visited the Mayor who presented the history of the town. He gave us souvenirs and wished a pleasant stay and a very fruitful visit.

We also visited Torun and Warsaw. The guides presented the sights and specialities of these cities in English. The medieval City of Torun is charming and visiting the National Stadium in Warsaw made us really „feel like VIP“.

Students stayed with host families and got a chance to know the culture and customs. Their communication skills were put to the challenge. They enjoyed every single moment because the hospitality of the hosts and the activities they took part in, made them really enjoyed their stay in Gostynin.

We are so thankful for all the host families and the wonderful job they've done for our children.

We would like to give thanks to our Polish colleagues and the head teacher for their time and everything they've done for making this visit such a memorable experience.

We would like to give special thanks to Renata, our coordinator because we were enjoying every moment. Thank you for the excellent work you put into making this project a great success!
