In Februrary Polish school organised a meeting with a former PE teacher, a football coach and an author of books about the history of sports, especially football. Our guest is a fan and an expert of the history of the Catalan football club FC Barcelona. He also owns a great collection of football T-shirts. During the meeting the coach said that if you are ambitious and determined, if you pursue your goals, you can fulfill even the biggest dreams.

26th March – The Geek school had a special guest at school. A lady who specializes in the palm crosses making came and talked to the kids about this old Easter tradition for Palm Sunday (which is this Sunday for us). She has been making these crosses since she was 5 years old and as told us she was taught by a nun. She showed the kids how the palm crosses are made and then our Erasmus kids tried to make one for themselves! Super day!!

During the visit in Poland (April) we visited Tadeusz Biniewicz, a sculptor and painter from Gostynin in his studio. He is a well-known artist, famous both in Poland and abroad. The standard of his sculptures and paintings is very high. He is the author of the Siemovit 4th monument, which is located in the centre of Gostynin. Mr Biniewicz is currently working on the sculpture of Neptun of Bologna. It is going to be the first granite sculpture of Neptun in the world. His sculpture is going to stand on the bank of the Vistula river in Płock. At the same time, the artist is working on the granite sculpture of the Crowned Eagle to commemorate the 100th anniversary of regaining independence. The monument is going to be 4.37m tall and is going to stand in Kowal. In that town there is also a famous statue of King Casimir the Great by Tadeusz Biniewicz. We had the opportunity to see the monument in Kowal.

A famous archaelogist visited our school and informed the kids all about his profession.
The kids were excited to meet him and even got to be 'little archaelogists' themselves for one day!
