Introduction

2018 - European Year of Cultural Heritage.

Cultural heritage shapes our everyday lives and

binds us together all over Europe through our

common values. European cultural heritage is

highlighted among others through language.

This project is based on the fact that a large

number of words in all European languages derive

from a common origin which is either Latin or

Greek. Quite a few of these words actually are

similar in dictation and might only vary in

pronunciation.

Our objective as educators is to collectively

assist our students in understanding the unity and

integrity of the European civilization as

witnessed in its various languages.

So, is it still a case of it’s all Greek to me”

or in reality do we all speak the same language?
