Learning activitie in Spain

  • In the week of October 26th to 30th, Maria Reina Eskola hosted the third transnational meeting of students and teachers in the project “IT or not IT, reaching our goals equipped with modern tools”. The guests were 22 students and 9 teachers from partner schools from the Czech Republic, Poland, Cyprus and Croatia. The five-day program was full of different workshops, cultural and social activities. The subject this time was “developing our interests using IT tools”. The students took part in three workshops:

    • Learning how to create a talking avatar with Voki
    • Sports using Endomondo app
    • Learning how to record and edit sounds.

After the opening ceremony, we visited the school. Afterwards there were some "ice-breaking" activities aimed to get to know each other and to connect participants. In the afternoon the students designed their own talking avatar to introduce themselves.
The second day the sport day, after learning how to use Endomondo app we visited San Sebastian by bicycle.  In the afternoon we went to the Aquarium, we saw the museum and we crossed the large tank, a 360º tunnel, where you observed a variety of Atlantic and Cantabrian species and the two bull sharks.
Wednesday was a working day at school. First of all the students attended an Internet Safety lecture. Later on students worked in teams with Audacity, they mixed music from different countries. After the presentations of the different works we went to Igeldo Mountain and took some pictures from the top.
The fourth day it was art and culture day therefore we went to Bilbao and after a guided tour from the city we visited the Guggenheim museum.  The students spent the day with a “guest toy” and took picture with it to make a final video with the tools they have already learnt in the project.
On our last day, Friday, they finished the videos about the visit to Bilbao. After watching them we went to Tabakalera, a new contemporary culture building of San Sebastian, the students participated in a workshop. In the afternoon in the farewell party students had a wonderful time.

On Saturday, 30th October was the day to say goodbye. Fortunately friendships made will continue through digital channels until we meet again in Cyprus.
