On their arrival at the school, the guests had a warm welcome. A large banner made by the students of the Cypriot school, at the school entrance, expressed good wishes to the guests

The meeting in Cyprus focused on the sub-theme of the project "Back to the future”. We tried to show by searching how Information Computer Technology has changed our lives and how it influences our future and that is why in the opening ceremony we combined the old with the new, the past with the future, the traditional with the contemporary.

During the opening ceremony traditional and contemporary dances and songs alternated .
Our school choir, conducted by Mrs Maria Loucaidou, sang, with the special participation of three teachers , “ Ηrysoprasino fyllo”.  This song refers to the island of Cyprus, which resembles  a  leaf of gold and green colour cast into the sea.   The lyrics belong to the Cypriot poet and journalist Leonidas Malenis and the music was composed by the famous Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis.  On a screen there was a projection of landscapes of Cyprus and the translated lyrics.
