In Catalonia, Spain, we celebrate Sant Jordi's festival.In this post we want to explain you how we celebrate the festival.

SANT JORDI’S CELEBRATION  AT SCHOOL

We start the festival at 9.30, we sit down  on the grandstands of the football pitch. There’s a literacy competition about legends, poems and stories. There are three winners per class: The effort winner, The originality winner and  The constant winner. The winners receive a diploma and a book as presents.

Between prizes some students play instruments or dance to enjoy the audicence. At the end of the Literacy Competition, all the school sing the Sant Jordi’s song. Here you have the video!! 

 

In the afternoon we make a workshop about the typical presents people share that special day: a book and a rose.

We make a demonstration about how to make a rose with paper.
