Renewable Energy

  • Renewable Energy in Romania

The pupils of "Constantin Noica” High School Sibiu worked in their Computer Science lab in the Erasmus+ project "Ecological Literacy, making a research on the internet. They wanted to find information about renewable energy in Romania, aimed to share this to their partners from Lithuania, Turkey, Cyprus, Portugal and Croatia. There were many new things even for them. Thus, they learned and made the others to know. They explained to their friends the meaning of some important public bodies or system operators, usually known only by their abbreviations, like ANRE, having the competence to create and implement the appropriate regulatory system to ensure the proper functioning of the electricity, heat and gas markets, in terms of efficiency, competition, transparency, and the consumer protection. Like all our presentations within the project, this one contains the Erasmus+ logo, ELIT project logo and the suitable disclaimer. The 10 slides of the PPT were saved as JPG photos and added here through the Image gallery.

    Seminar on Renewable Energy Sources

Today, the energy that we need is being obtained largely from fossil fuels. The need for energy is growing rapidly. Given the dependence on fossil fuels, it is inevitable that we will turn to renewable energy sources. Generating electricity through solar panels which is the most common method among all other renewable energy sources is a quite advantageous method due to the geographical location of our city. Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Ecological Building has been built as a human resources center. The building with its PassivHaus certificate is the first of its kind in Turkey. Ecological Building has many ecological features such as solar panels for electricity production, rainwater harvesting system, smart enlightening systems, mechanical ventilation, heat pump and green roof. For our students to have awareness about renewable energy and knowledge about rainwater harvesting systems, we organized a seminar in Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Ecological Building. Pupils, thanks to the seminar by the experts of the subject, learnt about renewable energy sources and the ways to build and use them.

Starting from Zero to the Meteorological Center Sibiu

Combating climate change is one of the five main themes of the extensive Europe 2020 strategy for a smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. The main objectives of the strategy are to reduce by 2020 the gas emissions with greenhouse effect in the EU with 20% and to produce energy from renewable sources. The Erasmus+ team of our high school considers it’s efficient for the inhabitants of this planet as education on obtaining renewable energy to begin at an early age. For this, the 4th class A pupils, accompanied by their primary level teacher and at the same time the coordinator of the project “Ecological Literacy”, Mrs. Gabriela Mirela Jugar, decided to start from zero in their exploration, coming to the Meteorological Centre Sibiu, with the desire to learn about the climate changes on the environment, their impact on our planet, country and the need for renewable source at national, European and global level. Here, they have noticed different devices of air analysis, learned about the average speed of the wind and gained more knowledge about the evolution of rainfall in the central area of Romania. Curious and enthusiastic, the pupils were amazed at the effort and the work of those working in this center and have decided that, together with their teacher, to discuss more often these interesting topics.

    Green Enegry

Energy needs in the world are daily getting bigger and position in which we rely on energetic potential of fossil fuels like coal, oil or gas is completely unsustainable. The age of industrial revolution rapidly increased the use of fossil fuels which led to a significant change in the world. At the time, it was only important to grow without any control and to develop industry, but now as we are more mature and responsible as a society it is time to take responsibility for our actions and to search for alternative ways of getting energy. We're talking about green energy. There is not really an alternative to it, because it is the most natural possible way of getting energy. Green energy includes all renewable sources of energy. They are those that cannot be depleted and that give pure energy without bad outcomes toward enviroment and our health. Wind, water and sun are most common in this, not so new, way of using energy. All renewable sources of energy are in some way indirectly connected to sun's radiation. It sends towards Earth 15.ooo times more energy then it needs, we only need to finde a way how to contain it and turn it into some useful and needed energy source. Due to fears around and about economical crisis, governments in many countries or institutions like the EU started to work on their energetic plan and raising the percentage of energy that comes from renewable sources. Despite various excuses that try to present the green energy as insufficient of meeting the needs of the today's societies, the energetic potential of wind energy, for example, is five times bigger than all the current energy production. Hence, this makes these excuses completely wrong and unfounded. Enclosed are the multimedial presentations about green energy by students of class 8D.

    ZELENA ENERGIJA

Multimedijalne prezentacije o zelenoj energiji učenika 8.d razreda pogledajte u privitku.
