IMPRESSIONS ON ROMANIA
During seven days, last week, we were in Sibiu City, Romania for the first transnational meeting of Erasmus+ project “Ecological Literacy” which “Vali M. Lütfullah Bilgin” Ortaokulu is going to take part as a partner for two years. The first day, our partners from Romania welcomed the whole project team at the airport with a kind and intimate manner as a sign of great hospitality. We made it to the city of Sibiu after a five-hour lasting bus journey. In Liceul Teoretic “Constantin Noica” in which first mobility and opening sessions took place, the open-hearted and earnest meeting warmed us all despite the cold weather. We were greeted with the offer of salt and bread which we learned it was a Romanian tradition to welcome guests. The host pupils dressed in national costumes gave all partners flowers. After the speeches performed by school headmaster and project coordinator of the host country, we had the chance to participate into some classes. With the attendance of local media, we were in History, Chemistry, ICT classes and thematic workshops. The second day with opening ceremony and local artistic shows by host pupils and teachers was amazing. On the third day of our mobility in Romania, we went to a documentary visit to Water Channel JSC Sibiu, water treatment facility and learned many things about the journey of contaminated water from the treatment facility to the river itself. Biogas obtained by the residual was used to operate the generator which had a generating capacity of 800 kW per hour and could supply approximately %35 of electricity needed by the treatment facility. In the plant, the treated water was released to river and the residual, after being extracted of gases in it, used as fertilizer for agricultural purposes. After we finished with the water treatment facility, the next stop was Sibiu city center. The fantastic and historical structure of the city fascinated us all. Old houses with alcoves, cathedrals and especially Bridge of Lies were spectacular. Having been informed about the history of the city by the history teacher of “Constantin Noica” High School, we had the opportunity to take a look at the art galleries. Finally, shopping of course… Each partner bought some souvenirs for the Erasmus+ corners and their friends at schools. When we left the center, everyone was tired, cold but very happy. The group came together at school at 6 again. That was enough for so much fun as we had logos to choose, tasks to distribute and activities to be planned. After tiring but delighted 3-hour time, project logo was determined, tasks were distributed and all the presentations were watched. Everybody left for their rooms having had the dinner. A new day and the new adventure in Sibiu city were waiting for us. In the morning of day four, after breakfast, there was a trip organized to Sibiu Forestry Department. We were presented the ratio of forestation (%35) and the total amount of forests (6.5 million hectares) throughout the country. Besides, during the trip, we were told about the deviational flora and trees of Sibiu. At noon, the group was back at the old Sibiu center with historical houses. We stopped near Mouth of the River (Lake Dam) and photographed the magnificent landscape. A perfect lunch offering great samples of Romanian cuisine was right there for us. Each of us was fascinated by the food and spectacular architecture of the village. While the sun was setting down, the route was school again to determine the precise dates of incoming mobility. Exhausting yet productive another day in Sibiu was over. The fifth day, maybe the busiest and the most exciting of all mobility… Late in the morning, we had a documentary visit to Astra Museum Sibiu, the biggest open air museum in the world and Dumbrava Forest surrounded by the beautiful lake Astra. More than 300 buildings, water and windmills, huge presses for oil, wine and fruit were standing as sample of cultural heritage of Romanian village life. We were back at the hotel expecting the new activity. Again, there was that brilliant artistic show with two sections. First, a sketch performed by the pupils of host school and then an eco-costume parade which perfectly suited the concept of the project. Before dinner, one last session was performed to determine the last modifications about the mobility in Cyprus. The fifth day was over after sharing of mutual expressions. On the sixth day, early in the morning, we were at school again to share the photos taken during the mobility. After the sentimental moments of gifts exchanging, certificates of attendance and activities were awarded by the headmaster and the coordinator of the project. In the afternoon, there was a documentary visit to a museum and the first school in Romania in a city called Saliste. When it was evening, we were having the festive food in Sibiel, meaning little Sibiu, organized by our friends as a sign of their hospitality. Unfortunately, everything that has a beginning, it has also an end. It was the time we were ready to leave. After the breakfast, the members of the group along with the project coordinator were on the drive. Having had a 5-hour bus trip to Bucharest the capital city, Romanian adventure came to an end. Everyone said goodbye to each other and headed for home. We would miss these people who were partners to us at first; but friends now. We would like to thank Mihai Victorin Ordean, headmaster of “Constantin Noica” High School, Gabriela Mirela Jugar, the project coordinator who were always there with us during the Romania mobility, which provided us the opportunity to meet colleagues from different parts of Europe, share the good practices and get to know different cultures and esteemed Romanian colleagues for their kindness and intimacy. We look forward to seeing you all again.

ROMANYA İZLENİMLERİMİZ
“Vali Mehmet Lütfullah Bilgin” Ortaokulu’nun 2 sene boyunca yürüteceği “Ecological Literacy” adlı projenin ilk ayağı olan açılış toplantısı için yedi gün boyunca Romanya'nın Sibiu şehrinde düzenlenen proje etkinliklerine katıldık. İlk gün havaalanına ayak bastığımız andan itibaren Romanyalı ortaklarımız tüm proje ekibini güler yüzlü ve nazik bir şekilde karşılayıp güzel bir misafirperverlik örneği sundular 5 saatlik yolculuk sonunda Sibiu şehrine varmıştık. İlk hareketliliğimizin ve açılış toplantısının gerçekleştirildiği Liceul Teoretic “Constantin Noica” Okulunda, ikinci gün, soğuk havaya rağmen oldukça içten ve sıcak karşılama içimizi ısıtmıştı. Okul girişinde Romen geleneği olduğunu öğrendiğimiz tuz ekmek ikram ile karşılandık. Geleneksel kıyafetler içindeki öğrenciler tarafından çiçekler takdim edildi. Okul müdürü ve proje koordinatörünün konuşmalarından sonra çeşitli dersleri katılımcı olarak izleme fırsatı bulduk. Yerel basının da katılımıyla, sırasıyla Tarih, Kimya, Bilişim Teknolojileri derslerine girdik, atölye çalışmalarına katıldık ve öğrencilerin çalışmalarını ilgiyle takip ettik. Okul yönetiminin, proje ekibindeki öğretmenlerin ve görevli öğrencilerin gayretleriyle hazırlanan açılış seremonisi ve yerel gösteriler çok keyifliydi. Romanya hareketliliğindeki üçüncü günde şehrin su arıtma tesisine gezi düzenlendi. Atık suların temizlenip nehre bırakılmasına kadar geçen süredeki işlemleri görme şansımız oldu. Su arıtma tesisinde sular temizledikten sonra kalan atıklardan elde edilen biyogaz, saatte 800 kW üretim kapasiteli jeneratörler vasıtasıyla tesisin elektrik ihtiyacının %35 ini karşılayacak kadar elektrik üretebiliyordu. Tesiste artırılan sular nehre salınıyor ve biyogaz elde etmekte kullanılan atık maddeler de tarlalar için organik gübre olarak kullanılıyordu. Su arıtma tesisinden sonraki durağımız eski Sibiu şehriydi. Şehrin fantastik ve tarihi dokusu tüm ekibi büyülemişti. Cumbalı eski evler, tarihi katedraller, yalanlar köprüsü göz alıcıydı. Constantin Noica Okulu tarih öğretmeninin aydınlatıcı şehir tarihi dersinden sonra sanat galerilerini gezme fırsatımız oldu. Ve tabi ki eski çarşıda alışveriş. Ortaklarımızla birlikte Erasmus+ köşelerimiz ve arkadaşlarımız için hediyeler, hatıralar satın aldık. Eski Sibiu şehrinden ayrıldığımızda herkes yorgun, üşümüş fakat çok mutluydu. Saat 6 da tekrar okulda toplandık. Bu kadar eğlence yeterliydi. Seçilecek logolar, dağıtılacak görevler ve planlanması gereken etkinlikler vardı. Yorucu fakat keyifli geçen bir 3 saat sonrasında, proje logosu seçilmiş görevler dağıtılmış ve sunumlar yapılmıştı. Akşam yemeği ve son rötuşlardan sonra herkes odasına çekildi, Sibiu şehrinde yeni bir gün ve yeni bir macera bizi bekliyordu. Dördüncü günün sabahında, kahvaltı sonrası, Sibiu Şehri Orman Müdürlüğü’ne gezi düzenlendi. Yetkililer tarafından yapılan sunumda, Romanya’da ki ormanlaşma oranı (%35) ve sahip olunan toplam ağaçlık alanlarla ilgili bilgi aldık. Ayrıca Sibiu' nun çok çeşitliliğe sahip bitki örtüsünü ve ağaçlarını da inceledik. Öğlene doğru yolumuz içinde tarihi evlerin bulunduğu eski Sibiu şehrine düşmüştü. Yol üzerinde Mouth of the River baraj golünde durup muhteşem manzarayı fotoğraflama şansımız oldu. Harika bir köy evinde muhteşem bir öğle yemeği yedik. Köyün mimarisi herkesi çok etkilemişti. Akşam olduğunda önümüzdeki hareketliliklerin tarihlerini planlamak üzere tekrar toplandık. Yorucu fakat keyifli bir Sibiu günü daha sona ermişti. Beşinci gün belki de hareketliliğimizin en tempolu ve heyecan verici günüydü. Kahvaltıdan hemen sonra dünyanın en büyük açık hava müzesi olan Astra Müzesini ve muhteşem Astra Gölü ile çevrili Dumbrava Ormanı’nı gezdik. Dünyanın en büyük açık hava müzesinde bulunan 300’den fazla bina, su ve yel değirmenleri ile meyve, şarap ve yağ presleri Romanya’nın köy mimarisini yansıtan kültür mirası gibiydi adeta. Öğle yemeği için otele dönmüştük ve heyecanla sıradaki etkinliği bekliyorduk. Koordinatör okulda, görevli öğrencilerin hazırladığı “Uyanış” adlı skeci; sonra da geri dönüştürülmüş malzemelerden yapılmış kostümlerin giyildiği defileyi izledik. Akşam yemeğinden önce, Kıbrıs Rum Kesimi’ne yapılacak hareketliliğin son ayrıntılarının planlandığı ve karşılıklı izlenimlerin paylaşıldığı son bir oturumdan sonra beşinci günü de tamamlamıştık. Altıncı gün, sabah erkenden okulda toplanıp çekilen fotoğrafları paylaştık ve birbirimize hediyeleri takdim ettik. Duygusal geçen anlardan sonra, okul müdürü ve proje koordinatörü tarafından katılım ve etkinlik sertifikaları dağıtıldı. Öğleden sonra, küçük Sibiu anlamına gelen Sibiel’de bulunan, müzeyi ve Romanya’nın ilk okulunu ziyaret ettik. Akşam olduğunda ev sahiplerimizin konukseverliklerinin nişanesi olarak organize ettikleri ziyafetle Sibiu maceramızı sonlandırdık. Ayrılık vakti gelip çatmıştı. Sabahın erken saatlerinde kalkıp kahvaltıdan sonra Romanya’nın başkenti Bükreş’e, evlerimize döneceğimiz havaalanına doğru yola çıktık. Koordinatörümüzle birlikte beş saatlik yolculuktan sonra, ayrılık zamanı gelmişti. Başta ortaklarımız, artık dostlarımız olan bu güzel insanlarla vedalaşıp evimize doğru yola koyulduk. Farklı Avrupa ülkelerinden meslektaşlarımızla tanışma, iyi uygulamaları paylaşma, fikir alışverişinde bulunma ve farklı kültürler hakkında bilgi sahibi olma fırsatı yakaladığımız Romanya gezisi sırasında ilk günden itibaren sürekli yanımızda olan “Constantin Noica” Okulu Müdürü Mihai Victorin Ordean ve proje koordinatörü Gabriela Mirela Jugar başta olmak üzere proje ekibinde görevli tüm saygıdeğer meslektaşlarımıza nezaketleri ve göstermiş oldukları yakın ilgiden dolayı teşekkür eder, bir sonraki hareketlilikte Kıbrıs Rum Kesimi’nde tekrar buluşmayı dileriz.

Erasmus+ ELIT - The 1st Transnational Meeting in Romania
In mid-November in the Romanian city of Sibiu, the first transnational meeting of the partners in the project Erasmus + Ecological literacy, and our school was presented by Valery Horvat and Ivana Ruzic. At the meeting, we met all the participating schools, the region and country we come from. Agreed the project activities and expected outcomes, preparations for exchange pupils that will be held in February 2017 in the partner school of Cyprus and in April 2017 when the 1st primary school Čakovec accommodate teachers, principals and pupils of partner schools from Romania, Turkey, Portugal, Lithuania and Cyprus. Sasatank was an opportunity for partners to performance by the 3 best logos that are made by the pupils in each of the partner schools and the selected common logo which will show off the project and all our activities. The winning logo was the work of pupils from Cyprus. Also, all partners are exchanged symbolic presents its end and postcards greeting cards made by pupils for mates in other schools. All participants had the opportunity to get to know the culture, history, tradition and natural beauty of Transylvania.

Erasmus+ ELIT - Prvi transnacionalni sastanak u Rumunjskoj
Sredinom studenog u rumunjskom gradu Sibiu održan je prvi transnacionalni sastanak partnera u projektu Erasmus+ Ecological literacy, a našu školu su predstavile Valerija Horvat i Ivana Ružić. Na sastanku smo upoznali sve partnerske škole, regije i države iz kojih dolazimo. Dogovorene su projektne aktivnosti i očekivani ishodi, pripreme za razmjene učenika koje će se održati u veljači 2017. u partnerskoj školi na Cipru te u travnju 2017. kada će I. osnovna škola Čakovec ugostiti učitelje, ravnatelje i učenike partnerskih škola iz Rumunjske, Turske, Portugala, Litva i Cipra. Sasatank je bio prilika da partneri predstave po tri najbolja loga koja su izradili učenici u svakoj od partnerskih škola te je odabran zajednički logo kojim ćemo isticati projekt i sve naše aktivnosti. Pobjednički logo je rad učenika sa Cipra. Također, svi partneri su razmijenili simbolične poklone svog kraja te razglednice i čestitke koje su izradili učenici za učenike u drugim školama. Svi sudionici sastanka imali su prilike upoznati kulturu, povijest, tradiciju i prirodne ljepote Transilvanije. Više detalja o sastanku možete pogledati u foto u prilogu.

A Few Words about Our First Erasmus+ ELIT Meeting in Romania
On 14-20 November 2016, the first coordinator meeting of Erasmus+ Ecological Literacy (ELIT) project took place in Sibiu, Romania and was attended by Rita Rasikienė, Head of Prezidento Valdo Adamkaus Gymnasium and the English teacher Andželika Andreikėniene. The first meeting of the project member countries was of the high importance since the project coordinators thoroughly introduced the member countries to the future project activities and its main aims and tasks. During the meeting it was agreed on the precise schedule of the mobility and future activities as well as the funds for each member country and the forthcoming activities. On the last day of the meeting the logo competition took place, during which the best project logo was announced. The competition was won by a student from Cyprus, followed by S. Mikalauskas, a student of Prezidento Valdo Adamkaus Gymnasium. During the meeting coordinators not only worked at school, but also visited Wastewater Treatment Plant Sibiu, the Department of Forests as well as talking relevant environmental issues around the world. In the free time we visited the world-famous Bran (Dracula) Castle, the lovely old town of Sibiu, the Astra Museum Sibiu and enjoyed many wonderful moments. We would like to express sincere gratitude to our colleagues Gabriela and Mihai in Sibiu for the warm welcome and lovely time together.

Keletas žodžių apie mūsų pirmasis Erasmus+ Elit susitikimą Rumunijoje
Š.m. lapkričio 14-20d. Sibiu (Rumunijoje) įvyko pirmasis tarptautinio Erasmus+ projekto „Ecological Literacy (ELIT)“ koordinatorių susitikimas, kuriame dalyvavo mokyklos direktorė R. Rasikienė ir anglų k. mokytoja A. Andreikėnienė. Pirmasis dalyvaujančių šalių susitikimas ypač svarbus, kadangi jo metu projekto koordinatoriai išsamiai supažindino šalis-partneres su planuojama veikla, pagrindiniais projekto tikslais bei uždaviniais. Darbinio vizito metu buvo suderintas tikslus būsimų veiklų bei mobilumų tvarkaraštis, aptartas kiekvienai iš dalyvaujančių šalių skirtas biudžetas, aptartos projekto metu vyksiančios veiklos. Paskutinę vizito dieną įvyko logotipo konkursas, kurio metu buvo išrinktas projekto logotipas. Konkursą laimėjo mokinio iš Kipro sukurtas logotipas ir tik vienu balu nuo jo atsiliko mūsų gimnazijos mokinio S. Susitikimo metu koordinatoriai ne tik dirbo mokykloje, bet ir lankėsi vandens atliekų apdorojimo gamykloje, miškininkystės departamente, gilinosi į aktualias gamtosaugos problemas visame pasaulyje. Na, o laisvą atokvėpio minutę nuo darbų aplankė garsią visame pasaulyje Brano-(Drakulos) pilį, nuostabų Sibiu miesto senamiestį, Astro muziejų ir tiesiog mėgavosi maloniomis akimirkomis....Nuoširdžiai dėkojame ir tariame didelį ačiū kolegoms iš Rumunijos Gabriela ir Mihai už šiltą ir svetingą priėmimą.

The 2nd Transnational Meeting in Portugal
During the 2nd transnational meeting of this Erasmus+ partnership, the teachers attended a visit to Sports Training Center Rio Maior, a reception at the Town Hall by the Portuguese Mayor, Mrs. Isaura Morais, a welcoming visit to the Portuguese host school, a visit to branch school „Centro Escolar Poeta Ruy Belo”, visit and sightseeing to Alcobaça Monastery and Nazaré, a multimedia show at City Theater, more meetings talking about the project and preparing the Interim Report, a visit to RENOVA paper factory (that produces paper consumption goods such as tissues and toilet paper, documentary visits to Pego Thermoeletrical Central (one of the most liable European metal companies), Castelo do Bode dam from Abrantes (which is a concrete arch-gravity dam on the Zêzere River and one of the tallest structures in Portugal, supporting a 138 MW hydroelectric power station), Lisbon region (Sintra/Cascais National Park/Lisbon), a workshop at Lisbon Oceanário (the largest indoor aquarium in Europe, with a large collection of marine species - penguins, seagulls and other birds, sea otters, sharks, rays, chimaeras, seahorses and other bony fish, crustaceans; starfish, sea urchins and other echinoderms, sea anemones, corals and other cnidaria, octopuses, cuttlefish, sea snails and other mollusks, amphibians, jellyfish, marine plants and terrestrial plants and other marine organisms totaling about 16,000 individuals of 450 species), a farewell dinner including the ceremony of awarding the attendance certificates to the transnational meeting in Portugal, a thematic visit to Salt-Marshes from Rio Mayor (natural resources/sustainable economy). In this meeting all teachers had the opportunity to visit the host school, nor only the main building but also other facilities belonging to the host partner school in order to be acquainted with the different actions developed in concerning: ecological actions developed in school, vertical articulation of the curriculum, early school leaving in specific groups of pupils and the different educational offers concerning them and specific projects designed to improve pupils achievements in Math and mother tongue or involving autistic children. As the host institution is a school cluster, the project coordinating team invited guests to visit also the different buildings concerning the different levels of education, which are developed in different buildings and not only in the city. Rio Maior City is located in a national park and it is known as "the city of sports" (because of the great facilities concerning sports where population and teams or athletes from all around the world come to prepare themselves to championships); population and pupils are used to be aware of the importance of nature and its natural resources and not only taking profit from them; so, besides the city most important spots, all visitors will also have the opportunity to visit the natural salt-marshes and a cooperative association which have been developing different projects and actions in order to have people recognizing the importance of sustainability referring to natural resources.

Cea de-a 2-a întâlnire transnaţională în Portugalia
În timpul celei de-a doua întâlniri transnaționale din cadrul acestui parteneriat Erasmus+, profesorii au participat la o vizită la Centrul de Formare Sportivă din orașul Rio Maior, o recepție la primăria localității dată de către primarul portughez, doamna Isaura Morais, deschiderea de bun venit la școala parteneră portugheză, o vizită la Centrul Şcolar Poeta Ruy Belo, o vizită culturală a obiectivelor turistice regionale la Mănăstirea Alcobaça și la Nazaré, spectacol multimedia la Teatrul Orășănesc, mai multe întâlniri de proiect și pregătirea Raportului Interimar, o vizită la fabrica de hârtie RENOVA (care produce hârtie igienică=, vizite documentare la Pego Thermoeletrical Central (una dintre cele mai răspândite companii europene de metale), la barajul Castelo do Bode de la Abrantes (care este un baraj de beton pe râul Zêzere și unul dintre cele mai înalte structuri din Portugalia, care susțin o centrală hidroelectrică de 138 MW), regiunea Lisabona (Parcul Național Sintra/Cascais Lisabona), un atelier de lucru la Lisabona Oceanário, un mare ocenariu din Europa, cu o mare colecţie de specii marine - pinguini, pescăruşi şi alte păsări, vidra de mare, rechini, raze, chimaeras, căluță și alţi pești osoși, crustacee; pescăruși de mare, șarpe de mare și alte echinoderme, anemone marine, corali și alte cnidari, caracatițe, sepii, melci de mare și alte moluște, amfibieni, meduze, plante marine și plante terestre și alte organisme marine, aproximativ 16.000 din 450 de specii), inclusiv o ceremonie de acordare a certificatelor de participare la reuniunea transnațională din Portugalia, o vizită tematică la Salt-Marshes din Rio Mayor (resurse naturale/ economie durabilă). În cadrul acestei întâlniri, toți profesorii au avut ocazia să viziteze școala gazdă, nu numai clădirea principală, ci și alte facilități aparținând școlii partenere gazdă, pentru a se familiariza cu diferitele acțiuni ecologice desfăşurate în școală, curriculum-ul, părăsirea timpurie a școlii în anumite grupuri de elevi și diferitele oferte educaționale ori proiecte specifice menite să îmbunătățească realizările elevilor în matematică și în limba maternă sau în cazul copiilor cu autism. Deoarece instituția gazdă este un grup școlar, echipa de coordonare a proiectului a invitat oaspeții să viziteze clădirile aferente diferitelor niveluri de învățământ, situate ]n mai multe loca'ii din Rio Maior, oraș situat într-un parc național, fiind cunoscut sub numele de "orașul de sport" (datorită facilităților sportive în care populația și echipele sau sportivii din întreaga lume vin să se pregătească pentru campionate); Populația și elevii sunt obișnuiți să cunoască importanța naturii și a resurselor sale naturale și nu numai să profite de la ele, astfel încât toți vizitatorii vor avea ocazia să viziteze mlaștinile naturale de sare și o asociație de cooperare care au dezvoltat diferite proiecte și acțiuni pentru a recunoaște oamenii importanța sustenabilității referitoare la resursele naturale.
