About our project

  •

This project is our entry for the "Europäischer Wettbewerb" - Germany's oldest competition for pupils. The task reads: "Music can tell stories. Vivaldi’s „Four Seasons“ is one of Europe’s greatest musical masterpieces. Allow such musical pieces to stimulate you, create a musical trip through Europe with photos, drawings, films or texts."

Here is a short video about the project:

This was our original plan for the project. We are still working on some parts and have added some new ones!

    A) create an online timeline of artwork, photos, videos, etc. showing typical weather / food / clothes / activities / celebrations / music / ...  through the seasons in our countries.

    B) Study Vivaldi's masterpiece in our lessons and share our work on the Twinspace.

    C) Perform the Four Seasons and other European music in an online Concert via Video Conference.

    Our aims:

To research, report and share information about typical weather / food / clothes / activities / celebrations / music / ...  through the seasons in our countries
To use various IT tools and integrate them into learning
To work in international teams to compare our seasonal cultures
To learn about Vivaldi's Four Seasons and share what is learned
To rehearse for a performance of the Four Seasons and other European music and perform it live in a video conference
To develop relationships with team members abroad

    Our plan

October: We will build four international teams: Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. The teams will introduce themselves on the Twinspace. Each team will research, report and share information about typical weather / food / clothes / activities / celebrations / music / ...  on their designated season.

November: The products will be posted to a collaborative online timeline.
We will investigate the similarities and differences between our cultures.

December: We will study Vivaldi's Four Seasons in our music lessons and share our work on the Twinspace. We will make quizzes for our partners.

January: We will rehearse for a joint performance of the Four Seasons and other European music and perform it live in a video conference.

February: We will read Shirley Hughes’ poems about seasons from her book "Out and About"

March: We will analyse the poems we will alswer to questions with our teammates on Padlet

April: We will collect on Padlet images of famous paintings about the Four Seasons

May/June:  We will reflect on what we have learned during the project and we will use the information received from our teammates in the Twinspace to compare the four seasons in our Countries.
