    CREATING COMICS 

    Last month we were working together and learning about the difficulties that refugees and inmigrants have to suffer. We gathered into small international groups (Austrian and Spanish students) to create a draft of comics depicting their stories and then create a final version of it in our countries

    This activity is based on the Refugee Art Projecct displayed in the Museum of Contemporary Art of Australia in Sydney

     

    ACTIVITY INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Gather together in mixed groups of Spanish and Austrian students

    2. Read a comic written by a refugee child telling their journey as a refugee

    3. Develop your empathy. Put yourself in the shoes of a refugee child

    4. Imagine you are a refugee. Think about your journey away from home

                  a. Where are you?

                  b. Who are you with?

                  c. What are you wearing?

                  d. What are you carrying with you?

                  e. Why do you have to leave your county?

                  f. How do you travel?

                  g. What difficulties do you encounter?

                  h. Where do you arrive?

                  i. How do you feel

          5. Create a comic to tell your story

          6. Write a sketch

          7. Draw pictures to illustrate your story
