    POLISH VOLUNTEERS:

During the time of the project: the school years 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 our School Voluntary Club has had the greatest number of volunteers ever. At the beginning of the project every project participant decided whether to volunteer in the nearby orphanage , or in the nearby Social help Centre, or at the animals' shelter. And regularly, at least twice a month they visited these places and accordingly played with the orphaned kids, or helped younger students with homework in the Social Help centre or walked the homeless animals. All of them had a lot of joy out of this. PEER EDUCATION In our school all the project participants were always ready to help their classmated or peers from other classes with school work. They helped with the subjects they are good at either after school or during longer breaks, 2016-2018. As a result, many of their peers got better grades at difficult subjects such as physics, chemistry, maths. Sometimes the same students helped and were helped too. New friendships and better relationships among students were establishes. The project coordinator collected from all the project participants (thePolish volunteers) Volunteers Working Charts with the names of the voluneering actions, dates and signatures of people who were helped by them, or who witnessed them helping others in a particular way. All the charts are kept in the school's office in case of control.

    EVALUATION

THE COORDINATOR HAS RECEIVED 41 QUESTIONNAIERS AT THE END OF THE MOBILITY IN POLAND C-1. THE INQUIRIES WERE DIFFERENT FOR TEACHERS AND FOR STUDENTS. THIS IS THE ANALYSIS OF THE QUESTIONAIERS:

    STUDENTS:

For all the participants the subject of the project was interesting. All of them were involved and had fun doing the tasks. The project has helped all the participants extend their knowledge about the partner countries and develop their language skills. All the participants to the Polish mobility, including the Polish students thought the atmosphere was very friendly. All of them stated that the project integrated all the students from the partner countries. All of them noticed some benefits of helping others. The students enjoyed particularly: learning Polish songs with guitar, handcrafts (project toy and ceramics - the portrait of my Host and of my Guest), the guided  trips around the south of Poland, integration with the families, visiting the nearby playgrounds, Santa Clause celebration at school. All of them made new friends. One of them wrote that after the mobility activities he felt important and helpful.

As for additional remarks: The mobility  was too short ( 11 students). /It was a great experience to grow up. / I think it’s a great project. I think it’s the best project I ever took part in./ Too little time for museums ( a Finnish girl), It was very nice to help other people and it made me happy./ The shopping time should have been longer. It would have been nice if the bus was in time./ I liked the time with the family, going to visit other towns, culture and the country and food./ the project integrated all students in one big and friendly family.

    TEACHERS:

All the participating teachers admitted that the realization of the project has brought measurable advantages for their schools, for example: improving English language among students, making students more outgoing, open to help others.

All the teachers valued positively the possibilities offered to students and teachers during the mobility in Poland (for example: students and teachers had the opportunities to meet other people and practise English and also know other cultures).

All the teachers thought the participation in the project had a very positive influence on students and their activities. They wrote the activities were interesting, involving  and funny. The students learned a lot about the history of Poland.

All the teachers wrote that the results of the project will contribute to better work in school and school life: the students learned English, learned the benefits of helping others, they gained more understanding of other cultures and countries.

The project has opened some external possibilities during its realization: We made new connections to foreign school and maybe we can use them later./ We learned from each other how to be more kind, friendly  and helpful./ We’ve seen a lot of places and thanks to tour guides we understood their meaning and value. / We had the opportunities to know how small gifts can make kids happy./ Interesting connection to other teachers./ the increase of awareness of our students about other cultures and languages./ New international realations./ Multicultural and multilingual experience.

The majority of teachers said the coordinator did a really good job and they wouldn’t change anything. 1 teacher said he wanted more time in the museums. 1 teacher wanted more  “teachers + students workshops”, 1 wanted more trips and more time in the Wawel Castle. Advantages: lots of things to do and see;realizing that  giving better than receiving, “I have known a lot of people and my students were very happy” “getting to know many new wonderful people from many nations” “personal development, good experience and motivation” “I think the students have lived an experience of a lifetime.”

Disadvantages: “I think we are tight to some rules and sometimes there are a lot of paper/clerical work” “a lot of unnecessary and then too much of a hurry”

All the teachers evaluated a strong influence of the mobility on the following elements:

personal development, absorbing the knowledge, motivation and extending of experience and skills, absorbing the idea of helping others

    Conclusion:

Next time Poland should plan the activities more carefully, not to get people bored or hurried too much.
