The Field Trip in Latvia took place on November 21, 2018. We went to Sigulda - in Turaida castle 8th graders took part in Photo hunt and 3rd graders found themselves in time machine which took them back couple of centuries.
As we still remembered our last fieldtrip in "spring", we were hopeful that maybe this time weather will be good and there isn´t going to be so much snow. It was cold, but were had so much fun that we forgot about our freezing hands!
8th graders took part in Photo Hunt/ orientation game "Story of millenium". Their task was to to find in Turaida Museum Reserve objects pointed on the map and solve different tasks, so they could get solution word and finish first!
3rd graders participated in educational programme „Visiting the Chief Judge of Turaida”. During programme they had opportunity to learn about the history of Latvia from 14th-16th century in exciting way – as a role play in Turaida Castle, feeling fragrance of history through the smell of wax and enchantment of antiquities. Under guidance of Turaida bailiff and clerk, they learned medieval manners and writing skills with special writing tools (stylus on the wax tables).
After both groups finished educational programmes we went to create the most popular tourist souvenir for more than a hundred years - Sigulda walking stick. Everyone of us made their own miniversion and then we headed back to Riga.
