Outdoor activities. Second week

  • 1st Kindergarten of Ampelonas, Greece

Hello! The past week was rainy until Wednesday. But on Thursday sun came up in the sky glorious. Since we had passed away the "opening" of the project, we explored two hypothesis. First, we digged a hole in the school's yard and put inside different object such as leaves, plastic bottle, ballon, flowers, paper and a pencil sharpener. We will dig again after one or two months to see what  happened.

The second hypothesis was what will happen if we blow up ballons and let them fly without tying the nozzle. What will happen? Some children answered they will go up in the air. Some said they will fall down.

We learned about solar energy he materials we used for our experiment are: solar plate, lamp, fan, little radio and....sun's light!!!

    Portugal - Oporto

We played a lot in the garden of our kindergarten.
We heard a story about autumn fruits and explored some of them, such as chestnuts. We made hedgehogs for autumn panel. Among other words, we learned to say "autumn" in English, which in Portuguese is said "outono"

    Continuing air experiments in outdoor.

    "Baloon rockets"

    What you need:

    • Piece of yarn (cut to about 6 feet)
    • Balloon
    • Drinking straw
    • Tape
    • Scissors

Pull the balloon to one end of the string  and let go…Observe what happens.

The balloon is full of air.  When you let go of the balloon, causing the air to rush out of the opening, it creates a pushing force in the opposite direction.  This makes the balloon move.

We continued inside with air painting and wind vane creation as you can see in the previous video.
