Our project

  • Our project started on the 19th of September 2016.

    SEPTEMBER TASKS

    • Teachers create QR codes with pieces of information on the new project (for example, 'blue and..' '..white', 'one, 'eTwinning', 'yellow and..', '..red', 'Patra', 'Girona', 'Athletes' etc). They put up the printed QR Codes around the school. Pupils, in groups, use tablets to scan the codes, collect the information and add it on a worksheet prepared by the teachers. When the groups have scanned all the codes, they discuss the information found and try to conclude what this is all about! They should guess the country by the colours given and use maps, books and the school/class computer to find their new partner! That is the why the new eTwinning project is introduced to the pupils.
    • Photographs are taken during the QR Code Hunt and teachers create videos with the game and upload them on the page 'Discovering our project'.
    • Pupils are invited to Twinspace by their teachers.

    OCTOBER TASKS

    • Each pupil makes a trading card describing hobbies and interests using https://bighugelabs.com/deck.php. Classes upload the trading cards on Twinspace.

    • Teachers print the trading cards and pupils read them and choose partners.

    • Students write their profiles on TwinSpace

    • Students write at least to three students from the other school, introducing themselves and asking three questions to each student

    NOVEMBER TASKS

    • First online meeting ETWINNING LIVE event. Students meet their friends with a live event on twinspace. They introduce themselves and play a game. A pupil describes him/herself and the partner group has to guess who he/she is.

    • Students start talking in groups about the group name in the forum. They need to think about a Greek adjective and a Spanish noun (group 1-6) or a Greek noun and Spanish adjective (group 7-12)

    • School presentation. Both schools work on the same Google presentation document. Each group (Greek and Spanish students) present one part of their own school.

    DESEMBER TASKS

    • Fottobabble: Language lessons. Each school prepared a short dialogue in their own language. The objective was to teach our foreign friends how to greet in Spanish/Greek
    • Second Online meeting ETWINNING LIVE event: language lesson
    • Christmas task:
    • Students from each school prepared a collage with photos of their own traditions in Christmas. With this collage we created a Thinglink with videos and explanations. In this Thinglink, students could ask and asnwer different questions to their mates about their traditions.
    • Exchange of Christmas cards (post)
    • First CHAT session. We created a Chat event to let the students chat among them about Christmas.
    • Christmas language games competition (Winner Athlets group in Hall of fame). Students play on games about Christmas. They must write on the Forum created for the games each time they play and write down a comment or their points in each game. The 3 most active students/groups in the games throughout the opened period will be the winners and will win a medal and the honour to have a picture on the Hall of Fame page.

    JANUARY TASKS

    • Our country/city. It is time to write talk about our country/city but we want to do it in a different way and make this activity a little bit more fun; we are going to talk about the city, but not ours! We are going to make a presentation of the city of our partners! So, Spanish students will find out important places and monuments from Patras and Greek students will do the same with Caldes de Malavella. To do it more cooperative, we are going to present our work with Voicethread (one presentation for both schools) which allows audio recordings and add comments!
    • 2nd language games competition about Cities/countries (Winner Athlets group into Hall of Fame). Students play on games about cities/country. They must write on the Forum created for each game every time they play and write down a comment or their points in each game. The 3 most active students/groups in the games throughout the opened period will be the winner and will win a medal and the honour to have a picture on the Hall of Fame page.

    FEBRUARY TASKS

    • Second CHAT meeting (about favourite cities)
    • Traditional tales activity with Meetingwords. This time the teams (2 Spanish students and 2 Greek students) have to write a tale. Spanish students write half of a traditional tale and Greek students do the same with a Grrek tale. then, they exchange stories and invent the end of each tale. When spanish students write the invented ending and the greek students do the same with the spanish traditional tale, it's time to exchange again and write the real end. Then, each part of the team has to draw how they imagine the main characters of their partner's tale. The tales and the drawings will be presented in a Storyjumper book.

    MARCH TASKS

    • The Spanish Music teacher, Eduardo, chooses a song with the spanish pupils and they start writing the new lyrics about our project. The greek pupils complete the other half. The Project song is rehearsed and sung by all partners in a common video. They also dance to the rhythm and a video is amde with the song and the dancing.
    • 3RD online MEETING is organised during which Eduardo teaches all pupils the song and how to sing!!!

    APRIL TASKS

    • To celebrate Easter pupils draw posters with Quivervision app. They use mobile devices to make them 3D and each partner prepares a presentation with the images and the 3D videos and Easter wishes!
    • Pupils also come up with messages to celebrate the 4Cs (collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking). They draw the Dot Day image from QuiverVision adding the messages. Then we add all the images in special albums in the materials. We make a new page and add a padlet where the pupils add their images. Then the pupils from each group go and add a comment to the posts of their group partners!
    • Traditional sports/PE activities. Each partner plays 3 traditional games and presents them in a video. They all watch their partner's videos and try to create the rules. Then we have a video conference where we discuss the rules of each game and see if we were right! The PE teachers of both partners are involved in this activity! (It would be great if we could play each other's games and show pictures or short videos of them. It would be great - if we have the time -  to ask the pupils to vote for the best game of their partners).

    MAY TASKS

    • We have an online meeting with 2 tasks. The first is to show each other pictures from our own traditional tales and play a guessing game. The next task is to have a partner draw an image on the platform's whiteboard while the pupils of the other partner look at the image and write a story about it!
    • We have a logo competition. Pupils make logos and then each partner chooses the best 3 of the other partner! Then they all vote for the best logo!
    • We draw online using the colorillo web tool. Each group draws a different image. The theme is 'online friends'! We add the task and images in the page 'Our online works of Art'.

    JUNE TASKS

    • Pupils evaluate the project, the partnership, the tasks and the tools in a padlet, a rubric and filling in an online form. We also have an answergarden where the pupils add adjectives describing the project!!! The evaluation tasks are uploaded on the 'Evaluation' page. The teachers answer a Google survey about the project.
    • The projects are presented in the school community and texts/photos of them are uploaded on the page 'Dissemination'.
