Magic Mascots

Every child loves mascots and they can be used to teach children. The project is based on sending class mascots to different schools across Europe. Pupils will have fun with the mascot, showing it the class, school and demonstrating life in that country. We will use mascots to encourage children to learn and show them how important language is. Each mascot should be sent with a travel diary and a passport. From the travel diary, children will learn about other countries and cultures, becoming more aware and more tolerant of cultural differences. During the visit children will write a short report from the visit in the travel diary (with some photos or pupils’ pictures). They also make a school stamp in the passport as a proof of the visit. On the Twinspace they will report in English where the mascot is and what they are doing with it. At the same time, they will work on some collaborative tasks. Each month we will do a different task on a given topic.
