This is a scientific project aiming at explaining the abstract concepts of (circular) motion and acceleration as studied in the physics lessons at school, through the use of coming up with an experiment carried out with a mobile phone. Most students aren’t aware of the fact that their mobile phone is in fact a science lab with a lot of sensors. Using the app Phyphox, students will come up with an own experiment to measure (angular) velocity, acceleration, … The students from different nationalities will form mixed-groups that will think about an experiment that can be done with their mobile phone. In doing so, the students will broaden their understanding and develop some 21st-century skills such as participation in discussions, taking responsibility, communicating, collaborative work, using digital tools consciously and effectively, cultural understanding and foreign language proficiency.
