Logo & Motto Contest Criteria & Tips

  • Created by Liubov Yavorska, translated by Sophia Voitolovska

    1) The logo has to be created by the student. The idea has to be authentic.

    2) The logo has to reflect the idea of energy-efficiency through the eyes of the student.

    3) The logo has to have a good composition - the elements of the drawing have to be well balanced and positioned.

    4) The logo has to be colourful.

    5) It is preferable to use A4 paper because it is easier to scan. If you don't have a scanner at school or the student chooses to use a larger format, you can take a photo of the drawing, in which case, mind that it has to be taken in good lighting and be sharp.

    1) The motto has to be created by the student. The idea has to be authentic.

    2) It has to be in English.

    3) It has to encourage energy-saving and taking care of the environment.

    4) The motto has to be laconic.

    1) You can have a brainstorming session where students can express their ideas of

    FOR LOGO - images/symbols that represent energy-efficiency;

FOR MOTTO - words/concepts that express inspiration for energy-efficiency and taking care of the invironment.

    2) FOR LOGO - You can explain to them the principles of a well-balanced composition and appeal of colours.

    3) FOR LOGO - When the students submit their drawings, you can create a display in the hall with each logo bearing a number. Post the criteria for voting and the voting box next to the display.

    4) Encourage other students in the school to vote.

    5) Students can not vote for their own creation and they can only cast one vote with three choices - 1st place - 3points, 2nd place - 2points, 3rd place - 1 point.

    6) If you have a school website and you know a good tool for online voting (which can be set to accept only one vote from one IP), you can use that as well.

    7) Take pictures of the work process and then display and share them in Twinspace.

    8) Count the votes and upload the best three logos to the relevant folder in the images section. Type in the best three mottos in the table in the Motto Competition Results page. DEADLINE: 15 December  postponed to 19 January!
