    ref.: C1 learning visit of Spanish teachers to Poland 18-24 January2016

     1. The Spanish Team consisted of:

    Guillermo Diaz Ceballos – project coordinator, English teacher

    Mónica de la Riva de la Rosa – vice project coordinator, English teacher

    Salvador Fernández Casares – Maths teacher.

    2. The Polish Team consisted of:

    Jolanta Mackiewicz, KHAN and City Game coordinator, Maths teacher,

    Krystyna Rosińska, run a workshop on using KHAN ACADEMY platform in the classroom,

    Małgorzata Klimczuk, Spanish teacher, she supported Spanish participants in the city game activity,

    Ewa Płusa, Biology teacher, took part in the city game activity.

    3. Other participants:

    Account of C1 activities.

    The following actions and events took place during the C1 learning visit of Spanish teachers to Warsaw:

    Monday 18th January 2016

    At 20:00 the Polish coordinator welcomed the Spanish Team at the Okęcie Airport and assisted them to a private dinner at the Polish coordinator’s place, where the Spanish Team met the rest of the Polish group.

    Both Teams reviewed the C1 schedule and agreed on the last minute adjustments.

    Tuesday 19th January 2016 – C1 Day 1

    It was the official opening day, when the Spanish teachers could meet the school community.

    At 10:00 the Spanish guests were officially received by the Principal, Mrs. Urszula Krajewska. Next they were given a tour of the school.

    At 11:30 – The school community gathered at the school gym to meet the guests.

    The Polish project student-patricipants gave a short presentation on Poland, Warsaw, Bielany district and the school’s history.

    The audience was introduced to the Spanish educational system by Guilermo Diaz, which was followed by an informal exchange on both educational systems.

    At 13:00 the guest were invited to lunch in the form of traditional Polish snacks and dishes, prepared by Polish teachers and students.

    During this informal gathering Polish students and teachers had an opportunity to exchange the views in a more relaxed atmosphere.

    At 15:30 both teams left for the National Museum in Warsaw, where they could see the paintings of the Polish collection. The Spanish teachers advised which paintings could be used for English Through Art lessons.

    At 18:00 both groups enjoyed a walk to the Old Town in the freezing, snowy, typical January weather for Warsaw.

    Wednesday 20th January 2016 – C1 day 2.

    At 9:00 The Spanish Team ran a workshop on teaching English through Art, to which teachers from local schools had been invited. It was followed by a discussion and evaluation session.

    Salvador Fernández Casares attended Maths classes run by Krystyna Rosińska and Jolanta Mackiewicz.

    At 12:00 the group had lunch at the school canteen.

    At 13:00 Krystyna Rosińska ran a workshop for local schools’ teachers on using Khan Academy website for regular Maths lessons at school. The workshop was followed by a discussion and evaluation session, see Attachment 3 for the attendance list.

    In the afternoon both project teams had a working session to check on how students are getting to know each other through eTwinning activities. They also discussed and agreed on the C2 agenda.

    At 18:00 the Principal and the project coordinator invited the guests and a group of the most active Polish teachers to dinner at the restaurant. Thursday 21st January 2016 – C1 day 3.

    At 9:00 Jolanta Mackiewicz ran a workshop on city games and the use of mobile devices in teaching. The workshop was followed by a discussion and evaluation session. See Attachment 3 for the list of local schools’ teachers who took part in the event.

    After lunch at the school canteen, the project teams prepared a city game for the C2 student visit to Warsaw and discussed the C2 organizational issues.

    At 18:00 the project teams took part in an hour-long recital at the Chopin Museum’s concert hall.

    Friday 22nd January 2016 – C1 day 4.

    At 9:30 Spanish and Polish teachers took part in a C2 city game played in the Old Town.

    At 13:00 the Polish coordinator ran a workshop on Erasmus+ projects for teachers from local schools. The workshop was followed by a discussion and evaluation session. See Attachment 3 for the attendance list and evaluation sheets.

    After the workshop the teachers had a chance to talk about the Spanish educational system. They aslo had an opportunity to make grounds for a future school partnership.

    In the afternoon the teams discussed the C2 agenda.

    At 17:00 the guests observed a traditional dance opening the prom for 3rd year students of our middle school.

    At 19:00 the guests and a group of Polish teachers watched Hamlet, a ballet performance at the Grand Theater in Warsaw. The show was preceded by a short talk on the Grand Theater history, given by Małgorzata Narebska-Bal. See Attachment 2 for the list of participants.

    Saturday 23rd January 2016 - C1 day 5

    At 10:00 the guests and a group pf Polish teachers visited the Museum of Warsaw Uprising.

    At 14:00 the guests and some Polish teachers saw “We Are Aliens”, a 3D show at the Planetarium (Copernicus Science Center).

    At 16:00 both project teams took part in completing C2 agenda, C1 evaluation and assessment session.

    The Spanish team left Warsaw in the morning on Sunday 24th January 2016

    Feedback and Evaluation

    Feedback sessions – discussions showed positive response to the exchange with respect to all discussed aspects: education, cooperation, culture and management.

    Teachers were given a detailed questionnaire referring to all project activities.

    Dissemination

    The main platform for dissemination is the project TwinSpace, which is treated as the project's website.

    Moreover, C2 dissemination activities included:

    updating both schools' websites, the project's Facebok profile, and Selfie+.

    Impact and the follow-up

     

    1/ We can observe the growth of interest in the project among Polish teachers.

    Teachers willingly joined project activities.

    The lists of attendance to all 4 workshops prove that the topics and goals of the project were defined correctly.

    2/ The visit intensified the declared student-participants’ interest in the project – their motivation was boosted. Students willingly assisted the teachers in guiding the guests around the school.

    Also, during the C1 activities that were taking place at the school other students would come and ask if they could take part in the project.

    3/ Teachers who are not directly involved in the project declared they would join in organizing activities linked to Spain.

    4/ English teacher were given clear guidance on how to prepare Polish students to Museum lessons
